About the author

Visit http//prepperslifeline.com/ for weekly articles centered on drama free preparedness without breaking the bank.
Barbara Fix grew up on a homestead in Alaska where -20 degree winters made self-sufficiency the "norm". Year round, water had to be packed in, Coleman lantern provided lighting, a sauna provided bathing, and the call of nature was answered by dodging moose on the way to the outhouse.
Still living off-grid, Fix is the author of hundreds self-sufficiency related articles under the pen name Survival Diva. Her recently released book Get Prepared Now! is a collaborative effort with author Michael Snyder of the popular blog The Economic Collapse. Fix is also the author of a previous preparedness-related book, Survival: Prepare Before Disaster Strikes. Her books are available in paperback and Kindle.

Yet, it need a second edition, more like a 1940's Scout manual with photos, diagrams, drawings, photo list of a personal bug-out bag, car kit, and retreat kit. It also forgot a heavy constuction wheelbarrow, a foldable deer cart, and cast iron two burner (propane). I am rereading this book for a second time. A good choice for one's personal survival library.
Its well written, common-sense, concise, it covers an extensive range of topics all with meaningful detail, and is filled with tips, suggestions, and the wisdom of experience. The lists of additional resources and links expands the value of this already excellent book. I found myself highlighting something on every page - things I'd never considered or tips I haven't seen anywhere else.
I hope that this author has or will write more books on the subject - I'll download all of them.
before you need to survive the (big bang)so to speak.
