About the Author

“Mother of a superhero…Writer of romantic smut.” Rebecca is a coffee drinking, music loving, working single mother and writing insomniac. When she’s not writing, she’s reading and when she’s not reading she’s squeezing her eyes shut and willing sleep to descend. She writes about serious issues, giving emotional turmoil a twist and adding a little ‘British’ humour and dry wit. Her stories are real and relatable, yet unexpected and unpredictable. Every writer was a reader first and Rebecca owes her passion for creating and telling emotional tales to the stories she has read and the people, places and experiences that have, and continue to, inspire her. Rebecca wants her readers to escape to a world where fairy tales and true love exist, wrapping her stories up with angst, passion and curveballs you won’t see coming. Her writing aims to bring problems and tragedies people face every day to light, make them relatable and leave her readers thinking long after they’ve read the last page.

Once again Ms. Sherwin has intrigued and pulled her reader's in with this tale. Survival isn't just any story, though. It pulls you in, spits you out, and then repeats. My heart ached during the entire story because I could feel fate's gloom lurking around Skye. Just as she had found Thomas, the man that she dserved and never thought she would get, it is torn away, and trust me, be prepared for tears and many moments of "OH MY GOD!" What I love most about this story is Ms. Sherwin's ability to have her characters connect with her readers. There were many times through this story where I wanted to climb in and save the day, tell Skye, NO!, and hold her when she while she grieved. I love tales that aren't all hearts and flowers because real life isn't. Real life isn't fairy tales and happily-ever-afters. Sometimes, HEA is not what it seems. Ms. Sherwin definitely pierced my heart near the end of Survival and I'm anxiously awaiting the next installment. Great job!

Make sure you have your seatbelt firmly fastened and a box of tissues handy when you read this story. A touching, yet often tragic tale of a young woman Skye. Skye could be anyone of us you think but then again maybe not, as what she goes through in her life would destroy most of us. Skye's life and that of those closest to her, by choice, circumstance or birth, is one of incredible highs a and tragic lows. Yet somehow, some way Skye pushes through. Sh
You will not want to put this story down once you begin even at times you will to just catch your breath. I eagerly look forward to the next installment, Revival

This story immediately pulled me into Sky's life and made me feel as if I was with her on her tragic journey all along the way. Just when it seemed there was a light at the tunnel, it was quickly taken away. My heart was being tugged in all directions, as one tragedy after another occurred. This poor young lady, suffered for such a young age, and I just wanted to take her in my arms...But as the story came, for me, to an "abrupt" end, I found myself saying "NOOOOO...I've got to have more!!! Rebecca Sherwin has certainly acquired a fan for life!!!!

You know the saying "it is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all". Well this book took this saying to a whole new level. To have a loving family, a nice home and money in the bank at the age of 19 meant that Skye had the perfect life. However this all changed in the blink of an eye when adjusting to hardship and dealing with an alcoholic mother became the norm. Thank goodness for Oliver, Sky's twin brother who protected her and had dreams of an escape for them both.
When tragedy strikes Skye is alone, desolate, grief stricken. But she forms a firm bond with her brothers friend "cut throat Curtis". Can they heal each other's pain? Will they realise their feeling for each other? What dark secrets is Curtis hiding?
In true Skye fashion things don't go as planned and she is left alone again.
Can Thomas, a tall dark and handsome stranger put Skye back together for good? Will Skye get her HEA? And just what did happen to cut throat Curtis? READ THE BOOK TO FIND OUT.

The story drew me in from the very first page. I like to think of reading as an sensually experience, can I see the characters in my head? what do they look like? Can I hear their voices? is their speech realistic? Can I feel the story, is it moving me? YES, YES,YES to all the aforementioned. From the dirty flat Skye lived in to the smell of the weed coming from next door, the screaming cheers at the fight and then the deafening silence of loss. Grief, I felt Skye's grief in its rawest form but also her passion as well, her desire to be love and be loved. This was not an easy read, not a fluffy romance. True to the title it is about surviving, surviving when all life throws your way is despair.

This book will have you in tears, so have the tissues at the ready.

A story of survival after so much loss. I mean how does a person handle loss. Skye has been dealt a s***ty hand in life, and after each devastating event she has had to rebuild herself.

How much can one person handle? You have to take what life throws at you, and it does make you a stronger person at the end of it all.

Rebecca has written a book that is not a read to be taken like!y. It is a read that will tug at your heartstrings and it is an emotional one at that.

This is a beautifully written book, that I truly recommend.

Skye had lived a very sad and sorrowful life with her family for many reasons, Curtis helps her deal with all the loss she had suffered. He also has been hurt badly and can't deal with what he thought she made him feel.

Thomas is a broken soul, and no one in his family knows why, he meets Skye in the alley besides a restaurant, Could that be it for both of them. Would they learn how to love and give again?

Rebecca Sherwin has hit it out of the ballpark yet again, I can hardly wait for the next book in this series.

The story made me cry a river, get mad like a crazy person, be happy, when a book draws this intense emotions off the readers, it's insanely good.

The characters were well cared for, with perfectly and cautiously traced back storylines, and a very tasteful and sharp story telling from Rebecca Sherwin.

It will leave you craving for more, even as "twisted" as it is, and trust me there will be more, but first you have to delve into the lives of Skye and her family, Thomas and Curtis. You will also most certainly fall in lust with some of the men in this story, guaranteed.

I promise you might get frustrated and even hate some of the characters, but you will certainly fall in love with this story created by the impeccable writer that is Rebecca Sherwin.
