This book had many twists I was not expecting and had me on the edge of each page anxious to see what happens at the end of each chapter. If you are looking for a great suspense novel, this is the one for you! I can not wait for the next book in this series to come out because I will definitely be ordering it as soon as it is released. Awesome job Mrs. Burton, another wonderful novel and I can't wait to see what happens next!
Burton's new book is well worth the wait. It is all about the facade behind the mask, about the evil that men do behind closed doors. It is about holding onto hope that things will get better. And what is a story set in New Orleans without hurricanes and voodoo priestesses? I can honestly say this is one of the best books I've ever read, I read it all in one sitting, except for the few times I got so stressed and nervous about what was happening that I had to put it down and walk away. Of course I came right back, because I had to know what was going to happen next. I will admit that I had my doubts about whether a romance writer could write a thriller, I am now sorry I doubted. It's hard to write a review without giving anything away, but I refuse to spoil it for you, sorry readers. Just trust me on this, if there's only one book you read this summer, let it be tjis one. You won't regret it.
