About Susan Gregory
Susan Gregory calls herself The Daniel Fast Blogger, however most people consider her the The Daniel Fast Expert. She has personally experienced the Daniel Fast many times in her life, but in 2007 she started a simple blog to write about it. Since that time she has helped hundreds of thousands of men, women and teens experience a successful Daniel Fast. Her simple blog has had more than 12 million visits and Susan and her team have responded to more than 25,000 questions, comments and praise reports.
The Daniel Fast is a method of fasting and the often chosen way to fast for the annual New Year Fast, Lent and other periods of prayer and fasting. Based on the fasting experiences of the prophet Daniel, the Daniel Fast is plant-based with the only beverage being water. It is usually practiced for 21 consecutive days.
Tyndale Publishing House released The Daniel Fast in paperback and it quickly became the best-selling book about this fast (as it remains today) and is now considered the "go-to" reference for the Daniel Fast. The book teaches about the power of prayer and fasting, how to prepare for a successful fast, plus includes a Daniel Fast cookbook with plenty of recipes to use during your long-term fasting experience.
In October 2013, Zondervan released Susan's most recent book. The Daniel Cure, co-authored with Richard J. Bloomer, PhD, guides readers into a lifestyle of optimum health using the Daniel Fast to launch their personal health journey. The book is a perfect example of how the combination of faith and science results in vibrant health. The simple approach to caring for your body is clearly outlined in the book.
Susan is eager to answer readers' questions. So visit her online at http://Daniel-Fast.com to learn more about The Daniel Fast.
Susan's ministry is to help people live a kingdom of God lifestyle by teaching practical steps toward an amazing and blessed life. She is also a speaker, Christian life coach, world traveler and trainer.

Blog postWe all have those times when we feel low. I’ve been there. I know how you feel. Sometimes we look around and conclude we are so inadequate. Poorly prepared. Blog postMany Christians regularly recite the “Lord’s Prayer” at home and during their church services. And a lot of people use Jesus’ teaching about how to pray in Luke 11 as a model or an outline. Blog postOver and over again in the Bible, God’s handbook for us as followers of Jesus, we are called to live by faith (Habakkuk 2:4; Romans 1:17; Galatians 3:11; Hebrews 10:38). Her passion is to provide useful information and tools for Christians so they can lead the life Jesus made possible for them. This book is in response to the hundreds of requests she received for a daily devotional for Lent and other times when people choose to fast longer than the typical 21-day Daniel Fast.
One of the most popular fasts in recent years has been the Daniel Fast, a 21-day period of prayer and fasting based on the Old Testament prophet's fasts recorded in Daniel 1 and Daniel 10.
The Daniel Fast is a partial fast, in which certain foods are restricted and others are consumed. This fast is similar to a "purified" vegan diet; in addition to the exclusion of all animal products, no additives, preservatives, sweeteners, caffeine, alcohol, white flour, or processed foods are allowed. With the Daniel Fast people can eat as much Daniel-Fast-friendly food as they would like.
Though most people begin the Daniel Fast for a spiritual purpose, many are amazed by the physical transformation that takes place. Many with high cholesterol experience a drop to healthy levels; people who have wrestled with weight issues are suddenly able to lose the pounds. The vast majority of participants following the Daniel Fast report a general sense of well-being and increased energy. Recent published scientific studies of the Daniel Fast have confirmed these findings, with additional benefits, such as a reduction in systemic inflammation, a reduction in blood pressure, and an improvement in antioxidant defenses.
The Daniel Cure will help readers take the next step by focusing on the health benefits of the Daniel Fast. By following the advice in this book, readers will convert the Daniel Fast from a once-a-year spiritual discipline into a new way of life that can begin any time of the year. In a nation suffering an epidemic of obesity and its resulting ills, The Daniel Cure may be just what the Great Physician ordered.
The Daniel Cure includes a 21-Day Daniel Cure Devotional, four chapters detailing the lifestyle diseases of obesity, type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and inflammation, eleven chapters of recipes and meal planning advice, a recipe index, complete nutritional guidance, and an appendix detailing "The Science behind the Daniel Fast."
