About Susan Kramer
Susan (Helene) Kramer is a graduate of Peabody Institute Dance of Johns Hopkins University. She grew up near the Chesapeake Bay in Maryland, and has been writing articles and books for children and adults on ballet, rhythmic dance, yoga, meditation, social issues, and codependency since 1965. She is also author of the "Rhythmic Movement Dance Series," of the Gateway to Educational Materials, project GEM, of the United States Department of Education. Early in her dancing career she spent two summers as a scholarship student at Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival and University of Dance in Lee, Massachusetts, studying mainly with Ted Shawn, Margaret Craske, Myra Kinch, and at the Peabody Institute with Carol Lynn. From dance she embraced yoga practices, became a certificated Integral Yoga instructor, and helped build the Light of Truth Universal Shrine, LOTUS, in Buckingham, Virginia.
