Susan Whitehead Allen has worked as a writer, editor and critic in England and the United States. Along with her many newspaper and magazine credits, Susan counts one hard-cover publication. She wrote "Let's Visit Jordan" (Macmillan, 1986) while living in the Middle East. She has contributed to several collections, including the Dictionary of Literary Biography, and her book-length editing credits include two non-fiction books and a volume of sonnets.
For the last 10 years, Whitehead Allen has been gainfully employed at St. Norbert College, the only institution of higher education in the world to be founded by the Norbertine order of priests. Serving happily at the place where nine centuries of tradition meet each year's fresh intake of eager young minds, she directs the production of college-wide publications. These include St. Norbert College Magazine and its companion monthly e-newsletter @St. Norbert, as well as publications of the nascent St. Norbert College Press. Whitehead Allen also serves as general editor of the college website at www.snc.edu, and pays particular attention to its Living Norbertine pages in which she is charged with showing the world just what it means to take the three components of the college's mission - Catholic, Norbertine, liberal arts - out into the world.
When not on a tennis court, Susan can be found collecting stories, networking with other editors or hanging out with her husband (author and editor Malcolm D. Allen) and four children.
