cheap product -- don't buy

okay, so once you get around the fact that it's made of really crappy plastic and you're not going to go out of your way to enforce a lifetime warranty (because, although it hasn't broken after my 1st use, it's guaranteed not to last more than 3 or 4 tries), it's a fun product and it does work.

The knife has a plastic handle and the blade is NOT that sharp. I think they try and upsell you with the blade, and I was really let down by its performance.

just keep in mind, you get what you pay for hence not a 1 star review.

when I opened up the bazooka I noticed a ton of red plastic shrapnel which then caused me to examine every edge to make sure I wasn't going to be eating this plastic which i'm sure is not BPA free (don't quote me on that).

I think, before you buy, watch a couple of youtube videos and determine that all you may need is the bamboo rolls.

Impossible to close properly

Attempting to make sushi roll. When closing the device the hinges come apart. The latches don’t work all the time. The end cap comes off when you try to compress even lightly. I have never written a bad review for a product before but this was so bad I just had to.

I though the bazooka tool would save me some time, but in fact it makes process longer + you have less control over the results + more cleaning.

1) Rolls are way too big.
2) Rice is sticking inside and on the edges, so you have to clean it continuously during the process. It makes it harder to close.
3) Pieces keep disconnecting from each other
4) Plunger is not tight enough, so sometime it pushes fish out of the rice and your rolls are ruined.
5) The rolls produced are longer than standard nori sheets, unless you press it from both sides, but there is still no indicator what the right size should be.

The knife in the set is not sharp and because it's painted, sharpening would damage the paint and make it not food safe.

My advice: just practice making rolls traditional way, apparently it's not that hard after i watched a few videos.

Taa...dah...Once I opened it, the making sushi kit look very simple. I never know how to make sushi. I asked one of my friends to join me and examined it. He is chef and the restaurant owner of Japanese cuisine include sushi and Korean cuisine. My friend show me how to use this kit. I'm not surprised he is able to make one sushi under 1 minute. But it take almost 4 minute for me to make one sushi. This is my very first time to make sushi. I'm happy about it even it don't look very nice like the sushi that my friend made it. My conclusion about this making sushi kit is worthy to buy it. It is really easy to use and make the sushi.

This AYA bazooka sushi making kit is really legit. Easy to use, each item the kit comes with is SUPER high quality. The sushi knife is light and SHARP. We are using it for everything from apples and meat, to our actual sushi roll.
The chopsticks are really nice as well , and the bamboo mat and wooden spoons are high quality wood.

I like that the actual bazooka device is easy to assemble and disassemble to clean.
There are easy instructions for use on the website, though I found it was very intuitive.
We made cucumber avocado rolls, and they turned out great! I have never successfully made sushi at home before so this was very exciting for me!

I do believe the cost of the kit is justified, the products are highly durable and will last forever.
I would recommend this kit to anyone looking to make sushi at home with ease.

The other kit was well packaged and attractive. A sheet of paper included gave the web site for information and tutorials. The web site and how to use were excellent. Very happy with my purchase and the price was also excellent. Would recommend. Haven’t actually made any sushi as yet but looking very forward to it.
