Zoe and Jack arrive in Rome for what they think will be a simple surveillance job and then a week of tourism in their favorite city... but that could never be the case for this couple, could it? After being implicated in the theft of some pretty important jewels the pair must again prove their innocence in the way that we all have come to love, alluding the police and tracking down the real villains.
This is a great series, I'm going to have to read the last one too!
It is full of twists and turns. I will admit I suspected who it was from our first meeting with the character but that didn't make the book any less enthralling.
I was a bit disappointed that some of the characters from the previous three books were not in this one. (the journalist and detectives) However, it had an ending that leaves possibilities for them to return in future stories. I'm still hoping for a spin-off series with two of these characters.
If you haven't read the first three in the series, I recommend reading them in order before this one.
Zoe and Jack are great characters. Each book gives us more insight into what makes these two people tick; they make a great team and are perfect for each other. This is a well-written story with an engaging plot that kept me reading until I reach the end. I loved briefly checking in with Nico (such a fun character), but I have to admit I missed catching up with Retired FBI Agent Mort Vazarri.
The On the Run series was originally a trilogy. (The first three books should be read in order, but this book can act as a
stand-alone.) Ms. Rosett stated she wrote a fourth book at the request of her fans. This fan is hoping she’ll continue writing adventures for Zoe and Jack for a long time to come. Happy reading!
