I don't know a lot of experts on the topic, but Dawn seems to have an unlimited supply of knowledge on the subject.
Go green. Great read.
Cons: This is NOT information related but some of the font styles (titles and quotes) were harder to read because of its style. But that's insignificant compared to the important info author provides.
Excellent book! The money savings you'll have will far exceed the cost of the book!
I've been working on my monthly budget and hoped this book would help me save money on food. The section on how to best store different fruits and vegetables was helpful, but the only other real tips were to join a CSA or form a bulk-buying group. Pretty basic.
I think the author intended this book to be an accessible primer on sustainability for the uninitiated. She succeeded.
...is what I said over and over as I read this book. I connect deeply Dawn Gifford's call to practical action from each of us to look at our lifestyles and evaluate our impact on the planet and each other. It's beautiful. It's doable. With so many books about the impending climate disaster, this one offers solutions that are common sense and sometimes ingenious - that I CAN ACTUALLY DO TODAY. I'm so excited and for once I can look at my daughter and not feel doomed.
Thanks to the author if she reads these reviews - you changed my life!
