The Suunto Vyper Air includes optional wireless air integration and a technologically advanced electronic 3D compass. With wireless air integration, the Suunto Vyper Air allows divers to monitor tank pressure and air consumption from the computer on your wrist. The Vyper Air?s new electronic 3D compass has user adjustable time out and offers divers the unique ability to tilt the compass up to 45 degrees in any direction without impairing the ability to read figures clearly and accurately. - The Vyper Air includes Air, Nitrox and Gauge modes and gas switching. For divers using enriched air, the Suunto Vyper Air can be programmed in one percent increments for nitrox mixtures between 21 and 100 percent oxygen. Divers can also adjust oxygen partial pressure between 0.5 and 1.6 in 0.1 unit increments. The Suunto Vyper Air uses the Suunto Deep Stop RGBM algorithm that features continuous decompression and optimal ascent time. For deeper dives, the Deep Stop option adds further protection with a series of ?deep stops? between a diver?s maximum depth and ceiling.

The strap is easy to cut to fit your wrist (put your wet suit and gloves on first, or give yourself extra room before cutting)- there are pre-made increments to cut on that work well with no frays.
The only downside so far is not being able to upload my dives- not a necessity, but I thought it would be fun. The manual says the computer holds the info for 36 hours, but I couldn't get the software to work- looks like a lot of people have had that problem with the newest software upgrade (DM5 of something like that). It appears to be a freeware that you may have to disable some protections on your computer to get it to work properly. No thanks. Oh well. Perhaps the software will get better. The computer itself is well worth the price- well designed
Here's my beef: I bought it, got it on a Friday and left for a dive trip on Sunday. By Tuesday, chunks of rubber were falling off. By the end of the trip (around 15 dives), there was virtually no rubber left around the protective "boot" on the puck. It was like it was dry rotted and the only thing I was doing that could have caused ANY trauma whatsoever was putting on my BCD/taking it off again after a dive. We were diving in the Caribbean, nice slow, recreational dives. No reason why it should have fallen apart except that I think the rubber was dry rotted. I had the Manager of the five shop change my battery toward the end of the week and he told me that my computer was likely a refurb because the back had been off before and there was a piece of plastic missing. Nothing that hurt the functionality of the computer, but a little disappointing. Same with the rubber. I mean--shouldn't a dive computer be able to stand up to the rigors of, you know, DIVING?
All in all I like this computer. The issuers I've had don't affect its useability, but I'm super disappointed to have spent $650 (no matter how good of a price that is) and get a product that's refurbed instead of new and is falling apart right out of the gate.
The add says this computer is equipped with a compass but it is not. I can make do without a compass but that is why purchased this particular item an not the one that was 50$ cheaper
