Don't buy until they change packaging

The chutney is delicious--I know this from visiting a friend who had a jar in her fridge so the product itself gets 5 stars.

****But a glass jar should not be packaged in just a padded envelope! It needs to be in a box with padding!****

I ignored the reviews in hopes they had changed their packaging but they haven't. I received a package of broken glass chutney mush. It was not salvageable in any way and it's not returnable so I essentially threw away $10.

I bought this chutney because I've tasted and loved this brand (Swad). BUT Amazon Buyer Beware! Whoever packed this GLASS jar of product did a crappy job. It arrived with the lid loose and about 20 percent of the contents of the jar were spilled out into the bubble wrap. I can't RETURN the mess, and I'm stuck either risking eating something that has been basically "opened" or just throwing it away and eating the loss of the $11.+.
I'd recommend trying to find this coriander chutney at a Real Live Store rather than buying it online.

This is exactly what I was hoping for! I'm glad I wasn't deterred by the negative reviews concerning packaging/shipping. I received my order 2 days early and in perfect condition, tightly bubble-wrapped. I've seen Indian sandwiches online being made with this green sauce. This is good stuff! I personally like the taste of cilantro (the Spanish name for coriander), but this will stay longer and retain the great flavor. I look forward to trying the other products by this company, thank you!

Add some of this chutney to plain yogurt as a side for many dishes, especially curries! Swad Coriander Chutney (and also their Mint Chutney) hasn't failed me yet...consistently good. Can store in fridge for several months after opening.

The Swad coriander chutney (itself) gets 5 stars but the bottle / cap gets a ZERO, thus the 3 star rating.
This bottle will NOT close tightly without stripping back to loose.
The Swad coriander chutney had no seal to hold the cap in place (as opposed to the Swad tamarind and date chutney which did.)
A better bottle / cap combo is needed before I will order again.
I had to trash the last 2 orders I received and also clean chutney from surfaces, front door to kitchen table.
Shame.

Not a big fan! Packaging is alright, got the product in 2 days but (1) Very pricey - $11 for 7.5 oz ? (2) Taste is OK compared to other really good chutneys. Cilantro alone is too soapy and is totally subdued by other unrecognizable flavors (3) Too sour and extreme over-powering taste of serrano..not to my liking (4) Had my kids try and they wanted to have a "extreme vinegar sour warning" lol. I have had better taste and flavor profiles with other brands on Amazon
