Edit: the derailleur was indeed damaged in shipping, but I was able to make adjustment & now have it shifting properly throughout all gears.
& Noww, I can FINALLLY talk about just how amazing the bike is so far, & Wow, it is just that. First off, it came probably 85% charged. So far, I have rode it through one battery (without running it completely dead) & went roughly 40 miles (using pedal-assist intermittently & pedal only otherwise) on that one charge. I'd say their claims of "20 miles on throttle only" is a fair estimate. It was split into 2 riding sessions. I had a blast..
Edit: I have now put the bike through its paces. Over fair bumps & up & down hills. Testing the brakes more. & its got about 65 miles on 2 1/2 charges, & so far so good. I enjoy the bike more with each ride.
Edit: over 200 miles now & no issues. Brakes calipers needed alignment with the rotor & now they work noticably better. Hit some very rough bumps on the side of the rode one day. Surprised it didn't break tbh. A couples spokes needed some tightening after that, but all else is great!
& to anyone wondering, I'm 5'11" & 140pnds. I dont have to hunch over. For reference, i have the seat raised about 3-4inch (unless loosenened the seat from the post & slid it back as far as it would go) & the handlebars in their most upright position. Many people in the comments were saying it's only for riders up to 5'4" or so, & that you'll look like a clown on this if you're any bigger, I disagree. Maybe because in my area adults sometimes ride 20" BMX bikes. Tgis bike is similar to a 20" BMX, exvept Its more like a 24" mountian bike i'd say. Except for the distance between the seat & handlebars is slightly closer together (can be fixed with a layed-bak seatpost if you're taller than me or just feel cramped. Also, there is enough slack in the cables to add somewhat of a lengthened handlebar stem in order to push the bars out further forward away from the rider. Maybe a 100mm length extender at max.
One other thing I want to note in regards to this topic, is that my 26" MTB from wal-mart is WAY more uncomfortable to ride (as far as riding position).. I Dont feel cramped at all, rather I feel at home on it. But maybe it's because I'm on the slender side, idk. Having said that, if your taller than me, I'd say It would still fit someone up to around 6' & 180pnds or so before you'd need to start modifying the bike. & with layed-bak seatpost + stem extender, probably can be made to be comfortable at around 6'3".,
The bike has disc brakes front/rear. Which is nice, but be careful on long downhill because I could see the brakes giving out. Im fairly light, & down a 1/4 mile downhill i was having to use more brake near the bottom of the hill than i was using near the top. Thats a sign they were already building too much heat. & it's fairly heavy (but not bad), so it can build up some high speeds down the hills in a hurry if you let it. The brakes themselves seem decent & have decent rotors too, but just be careful on the longer downhills is all I am saying👍..
As far as it's power, man does it go well for what it is. It essentially has 3 modes. pedal only (by turning off the electronics with the red switch on handlebars), pedal-assist (not I-PAS), & motor only modes. Pedal-assist is what I mostly ride in if not peddling normally, but I cheat on uphills by using throttle. it zipps right on up the same 1/4mile hill I had previously mentioned. & it's not super quick off the line (I think the speed controller keeps it from going 100% power unless already decently moving), but when going up the decently steep hills it doesn't really lose much power. Granted, as i said, im fairly light.
Negatives about the bike itself/ the way it rides?; not really many beyond what i mentioned already. The seat is uncomfortable, but what do you expect with a bike at this price. The tires, grips, pedals aren't made with A+ quality materials, but they're fine. I'd give them collectively a C. The shimano derailleur isn't the lowest tier one, so that good. Its a Shimano Tourney ty21. & overall the bike build quality is seemingly pretty solid. 6061 aluminium frame & a hybrid wheel design consisting of standard spoke/hub designs, but with a nylon type outer rim. Unique & I kinda like the idea. Not great if you wanna make it tubeless obviously, but should be durable. Maybe if they got rid of the stupid ding-ding bell, they could splurge for some metal pedels vs the plastic ones or nicer grips. They included all the tools you need + extra, but no tool to check the tightness of the rear axle nuts (as they are different size than the front because the rear needs to be more beefy from the added hub weight etc). Beyond that, I can't think of anything to objectively or subjectively complain about.
Overall, I love the bike &, assuming I just got one of the ones that wasn't machined quite properly on the fork dropouts, i'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for a budget fatbike. Anyways, to anyone considering buying for a kid, make sure you teach them to ride it & watch them at first. Its more for adults imo & youths who already somewhat seasoned riders. Also, the bike needs to be gone through & all bolts checked for tightness before riding. Take care & stay safe folks!

I've ridden it everyday on my 5 mile commute since I got it. It's been 1 week so I'll do a review now and update it as time goes on. While I haven't ridden any other ebikes, so I have nothing to compare this to, I'll explain all the things I like and dislike about it.
First of all, I didn't think this would be one of the more cheaper options, but it was the cheapest electric fat bike on Amazon at $699.99 (+tax) at the time of buying. Got here in 2 days which was super convenient.
Assembly was pretty easy and straight forward, barely needed the instructions.
I'm a pretty short guy, 5'5, so the size is perfect for me. As some other reviews mentioned, if you're tall, it might be too small for you.
I got this bike because I needed a commuter bike. I live in Michigan, so with the snow and ice, the fat tires were a necessity. It's currently close to the end of winter so it's still pretty slushy with some patches of ice. Riding through up to 5 inches of snow and ice is slow going, but manageable. The tires have really great traction and even with the horrible condition of the roads with potholes, it wasn't too bumpy without suspension. (Would be much better if it did). The seat it came with isn't very comfortable and I switched it out for a memory foam one that is way better, and a bit bigger. I also installed some cheap mudguards which are an absolute must of you plan to do any sort of off-road or wet riding. The ones I got don't cover the wheels enough and I still get showered in mud and salt slush when riding off road or through puddles.
(If you plan to ride in the north during winter like me, definitely invest into some rust prevention spray, and rinse any salt off after each ride.)
The speed is really nice! It goes pretty fast! And is super fun to ride. I can take it on any terrain, pavement, sidewalks, dirt and gravel roads, snow, grass, ice, etc. With full throttle, (not usually 20mph like advertised unless I'm going down hill), it averages around 14-17mph. And with just pedal assist it's closer to 10-12mph. And with steeper inclines, it doesn't go above 10mph. Kinda wish it could go a bit faster but I'm fine with how it is.
Brakes are a bit squeaky, might go away with a bit more riding.
And the bike itself isn't quiet, you can hear the motor when it kicks in but it isn't too loud.
The battery is pretty great. It's been consistently below freezing here so the battery can't last to full capacity, it dies around 10miles of full throttle riding, 5 at the minimum when it's super cold and going uphill. And can go waay longer if you're only using pedal assist. I recommend bringing it inside and not leaving it in the cold/heat which are horrible for lithium ion batteries. It charges within a few hours and is ready to go again. (Not a huge issue but it's a bit annoying to have to pull the seat all the way up to remove it.)
I'll have to see how much better it is in the summer.
I've also gotten a TON of compliments from people, when I go to the park, the store, or just passing people. I like how it kinda looks like a dirt bike.
The bell it came with is pretty helpful at alerting pedestrians.
And I also like how the battery has an optional USB port to I'm guessing charge your phone? I probably wouldn't do that unless my current batter pack dies but it's nice it's an option in case of an emergency or something.
You have to leave the key in the battery while riding which is good because I won't loose them, but they can get super muddy and gross.
All in all, so far, it's definitely been worth the money and I'm super happy I got it. Even as a beginner in terms of ebikes, this is definitely something I'd recommend to people in similar positions. It's also a pretty good alternative to a car, saves money on gas and is better for the environment.
Edit: found that 3 cells went bad in the battery pack. Hey Swagtron, are you going to warranty this or just give me the runaround like everyone else?
Edit 2: contacted swagtron and got quick response. Went through some back and forth to provide info and got warranty replacement battery yesterday! Thanks Swagtron. You gained some stars for that!
