After using this camera for some time I have a few area it can be improved. 1. When changing the batteries it loses the time stamp and you need to enter it in again. This is a simple thing to fix. A 10uf capacitor will hold a charge for a minute or two while batteries are changed. 2. It needs an indication ON THE FRONT of the device that the batteries are low. Too many times the batteries ran out and I did not know. 3. The thing stops working when the batteries are at 1.3V or so. If you look at the energy profile of a battery there is still 90% of the energy if you run the battery to 0.5V. This is a simple thing to do with a little boost converter chip. 4. The USB port is not recognized by my Windows PC. I need to remove the SD card and put that into my computer to read the photos. 5. The thing has an AC adapter input but no info on what to put there to use it.
I tried 32 Gb SD card and it works with 32Gb.
Video resolution is fixed 320x280. The person in the video cannot be recognized unless he is posing closely for the camera.
It runs out batteries in one week. So, needs to be visited very often.
Photo quality is also not so good.
SD card elastic lid can easily be seen and card can be removed by unwanted visitor.
Video recording time is very s
The good: although it emphasizes that you should only use alkaline batteries, it works well on Ni-Mh recharchables. I used four fully charged Eneloops and got 2 1/2 weeks of single shots averaging about 30/day.
The bad: Doesn't do nearly as well with 10 second video clips.
The good: you can see if something moves.
The bad: unmoving objects are fuzzy (only 1.3 MP); moving objects are blurry (presumably it's a slow lens) and fuzzy. Impossible to distinguish faces unless you know who it is.
Memory: Can use up to 32 mp SD cards. More than adequate, especially if it's a low traffic area.
Design: Takes awhile to figure out how to program it; you're looking at a very small window. Once it's set up it works without more attention. Easy to get the SD card in and out. Batteries, likewise, are easy to install and replace.
I wanted to like it but I didn't. It's a nice little package but it's clearly inadequate for surveillance. Easy return to a local Amazon drop box.

We were having several break-ins at out buisness and this helped out tremendously. And it only runs when it detects motion therfore the battery won't run down quite as quickly.Published on May 15, 2013 by danielle stinnett
