This 2 DVD set in this special edition metal tin. Has 20 episodes of 4 of the best British series of Swashbucklers. " The Buccaneers" staring Robert Shaw as Dan Tempest Captain of his ship, based on a true story of how England tried to destroy the Caribbean Pirates Strongehold on shipping routes to the so called "New World" each episode is shot in Black and White, and are good family adventure programs.
Next is "The adventures of Sir Lancelot" played by another good British Actor William Russell. Set at the time of King Arthur and the round table with Merlin. A costume adventure series family viewing.
Third "Robin Hood" which I reviewed before a great British Series black and White. Family viewing set at the time of King Richard the 12th Centuary. Richard Greene plays Robin Hood
Lastly "William Tell" set in Switzerland another great British Series, William Tell shot the apple off his son's head with a Crossbow. Again set in an Alpine Villiage hundreds of years ago staring Conrad Phillips as William Tell. All of these programs are dated now I think they were all made in the late fifties, however on saying that, they are a lot of fun, and worth getting for your young children, who although might be upset because they are Black and white series, well so is Casablanca, you might find the fun as well.

....doesn't hold up well over time. This is one of those things. The Buccaneers, William Tell, and especially Sir Lancelot come off as incredibly lame. Even Robin Hood didn't hold up very well. The film quality is abysmal and, while as kids we were glued to the TV when these shows were on, as an adult I couldn't sit through a whole show of any of them. You'd be better off to get full length movies on these subjects rather than try taking a trip down memory lane. For this set, it's a dead-end. Don't waste your money.

I was hoping Sir Lancelot was in colour as it was broadcast that way in U S
Loved the shows far better than current crap on free to air TV

They were nice old television shows. I thought they were movies. I was surprised. But still liked them.

I wanted to use the section on William Tell for music class at school, but the DVD did not play either on computer or on TV. I replaced it once and it still didn't work.
