I have what I would consider average sized wrists, and I think the watch band and face are a good size. A bit larger than a traditional women's watch, maybe, but I'm 5'6, 150 lbs., and I like the way it looks on my wrist. It's certainly not TOO large, or any larger than my woman's Timex Ironman. The face is pretty thin too, which is nice because it sits nice and low against my wrist and doesn't catch on my sleeves.
The only questionable things I have noticed so far are (1) the "ticking" sound is a little loud to me and (2) the watch face does squeak a little as you move. As to the first issue, I think this might be just me, as my previous watch was digital - I haven't worn an analog watch in almost 3 years, so I think I'm just not used to the sound. As to the second issue, I don't know if the squeaking sound is because the plastic is brand new or because I like my watches to fit snugly. I'm hoping that it will dissipate over time, however, because otherwise, I really like this watch. Otherwise, the color is pretty true to the picture, and it's VERY easy to set the time and date (the turn dial on the side pops in and out of the different positions easily). I also like that the date is in white and the minute and hour hands are in silver/white so they are all easy to see against the dark blue background.
UPDATE: I've been wearing this for a while now, and I can happily report that the squeaking noise did go away. Unfortunately, the watch face is VERY prone to scratching, and now has numerous, unsightly scratches ALL over it. This is very distracting when trying to read the time. I'm not sure where they all came from, as I don't wear the watch when working in the yard or any similar activity, and my watch is almost always covered by sleeves when at work. I guess it just scratches easily when it does hit something. I'll be looking for a new watch soon, if this trend continues.
The date and the hour of this watch have never worked correctly. I should have returned it immediately, but I kept thinking that I must not have been re-setting it properly; and then, I had other watches that I switched around with, and just forgot about it.
However, I just returned from a 5-day vacation and only took this watch. No matter what time of day that I set it and re-set it, it kept switching to the next day within a few hours, and has never responded to being re-set itself to work properly, no matter what time of day or night I set it to the proper day and date.
I would appreciate either a refund or a new, functional watch, even though I have passed the amount of time you allow for such returns.
