There is nothing wrong with this book at all, but then there is very little of substance. Just as the title implies, it is sweet and not much more. The most amusing part of the story is how three completely ditzy girls manage to solve a murder while the town's avuncular police chief, along with a mean and menacing detective, get nowhere. It makes you despair of modern policing......
If you like Murder She Wrote and Nancy Drew you would love this. But I'm afraid 'cozy mysteries' are not my genre.
If you are looking for a quick read, this would be a good choice. The sisters were likable enough and there is the possibility of romance for two of them. I did figure out "whodunnit" fairly early in the book, although I didn't figure out how the murder was accomplished and I felt the motive was pretty thin. There are several more books in the series which I will read as I come across them.
This is the first J.A Whiting book I have read. I figured out who the killer was very quickly, but reading as to learning I was correct and the reason for the murder was a great story. And I am looking forward to the next story to observe how both the characters and the author grows.
It is a murder in a small town they live in. The sisters, Angie, Jenna, Ellie, and Courtney are very close and when Angie the oldest sister is left a Victorian house all girls think they can run their small businesses out of the house and live together as well!
The house is left to Angie by the professor who is the murder victim. Angie is all set to find the killer to take the spotlight off her.
The story kept my attention right to the end! It is a nice fast read and there are 13 in the series that I purchased this morning, so I am looking to reading them all and in the way they were written.
I look forward to book two, with the cliff hanger end of this book, I am sure there are new beginnings in book two and more development of each character as the plot thickens,,,, ooooo and don't miss the recipes at the end of the book!
