Jase is a hot sexy alpha and Sam is a beautiful sassy heroine. I do not want to give any spoilers but if you have read Sweet Temptation and Sweet Love then you know that Sam is Sawyer's sister and Jase and he hate each other. So there will be no problem with Jase and Sam getting together and falling in love with each other right?
Sweet Haven is the second book in the Sweet series. It technically can be read as a standalone, but I HIGHLY suggest reading Sweet Temptation from the Men of Honor Series and Sweet Love which is the first book in this series, before you read this book to allow you to meet the characters to understand the background of Sweet Haven. I also would like to recommend that if you are able and have never read any K.C. Lynn books that after you have read all three books mentioned above that you read all of KC Lynn's books because she is such a terrific writer and she gives you characters and stories that will stick with you and make you want to revisit their stories over and over. Sweet Haven will definitely stick with me and be one that I re-read over and over, but that is always what happens with K. C. Lynn' books for me. One-click Sweet Haven and enjoy falling in love with Sam and Jase just like I did.
Samantha , the baby of the family, has gone thru some horrible times of late , and you feel her pain and her shame from page 1 yet she doesn’t let it define or break her. She is true to her friends and family and doesn’t allow anyone to talk bad about them and woe if you do. Her feelings for Jase are so complicated as Jase’s feelings for Sam. They start off as enemies and move to friends and end up as lovers. The progression of how things went was great and the flow of the story was good. There is several stories going on at once which enhances the plot of the story. I truly felt the pain Sam went thru and felt how conflicted Jase was. There are several twists and turns that take this book in directions I didn’t see coming but I totally loved. At times I was yelling at Jase to quit being a jerk and other times for the MC to realize how much they loved each other. Oh and previous characters from other books make an appearance. The ending was so beautiful and I was just sighing and had a huge smile after reading such a phenomenal novel.
My rating: 4.9 stars ****
Jase and Sam come as a very close second to my favorite couple that K.C. has written (because nobody can be Sawyer and Grace).
I never want to give away spoilers in these books, and it's so difficult to write a very detailed and good review without giving away anything! So please take the leap and read this book. You will not be disappointed!
**"As much as you will hate to hear this, Crawford. I've come to learn that you and my brother might have more in common than your big egos."** -- Sam
**"Because bees like sweet things and there's nothing sweeter than you, baby."** -- Jase
Samantha Evans is the youngest of the Evans siblings and feels small in their shadows though she loves them dearly. When her whole family moves away from Colorado, Sam takes this as her opportunity to finally leave the nest not realizing how much she would miss them. Recovering from a relationship she probably shouldn't have been in to begin with has had her second-guessing everything until Jase Crawford witnesses how badly she was treated.
Jase Crawford has always been attracted to Samantha Evans but pushed it away because she's the little sister of the one man he can't stand. The way she invades his senses drives him crazy and he seems to be able to manage it until her slimy ex shows up and it's all he can do to not kill the guy.
I loved this book! I have loved all of the other books written by this author and I expected no less from this one. She didn't disappoint. Sam is a woman with strong family ties with a heart of gold. Jase is a hot, fireman who is determined to get what he wants. I was pulled into the book from the 1st page and was captivated throughout, quickly devouring page after page. I have to admit I was sad to see it end but I know the next book will be just as amazing as this one.
This book can be read as a standalone but the other books are amazing and you don't want to miss out on them.
