Laura Bennett is newly divorced & grieving over the loss of her mother. Due to an encouraging friend, she shakes off her boredom & decides to try to live as she thought her mother would want. In cleaning out the house, Laura found a vision board that she assumed was her mothers from years ago. So Laura goes to the town on the vision board, buys a building, converts it to a bakery & tries to move on.
When Sawyer walks into Laura's bakery, he can't believe she doesn't know who he is! They have instant chemistry & he loves that with her, he knows she's interested in him, not his money.
I really enjoyed this one. Sawyer & Laura were both disillusioned with their jobs but hesitant to make a change. Laura actually struck me as timid & shy at the beginning. I loved seeing her open up & her personality changing as her "snarky" side re-emerged. She actually ended up with a sarcastic witty sense of humor. Like all January Cove books, they are part of a series but you can read them as stand alone books without feeling lost & missing the back stories. Another great read by Rachel!
