Follow her into this dream world, where you aren't sure what is real and what is a nightmare.
I enjoyed this book, and am seriously looking forward to the next book in the series. Zizi brought us a fresh spin on what I would compare to Nightmare on Elm Street. I love books involving the dream world, and other paranormal aspects.
This book really reeled me in. At one point I had to leave the room and I ended up turning lights on that I normally wouldn't just to make sure nothing was following me.
I am slightly disappointed about the details of the stalker on why. I feel like, maybe there should have been a better reason? I'm sure the next book will have more answers.
It definitely kept me on my toes and guessing and the suspense was honestly driving me crazy. I loved reading from Jake and the Stalkers point of view.
This book is a bit mystery, a bit thriller, and a bit romance. Alexandrea has a very warm and supportive group of people around her to help her through this difficult time. It is exciting to see her discover things about her heritage throughout the book. There is a lot of suspense and I was constantly guessing as to who the murderer might be. Things got really interesting when we learned about some of the supernatural forces at play.
I loved the scenes about the Book of Shadows and the discussions about the sigil. I really hope we get to see more of the supernatural aspects in the next book.
A well crafted thrilling and (at times) creepy book. I am looking forward to the next installment!
This is a debut book from Zizi (I believe) and it's so incredibly well written you would never know that it was a first book. The character development is flawless and the plot is amazingly intriguing.
Phenomenal book! I will be ordering this in paperback!
A young woman named Lex who is trying to overcome the death of her parents. She thinks shes to blame and starts having nightmares, but they end up being so much more than nightmares.
Cole has loved Lex since he's known her, but he learns of secrets Lex has and it's difficult to forgive, but he has to first focus on protecting her before he can move past all that.
Absolutely LOVED everything about this book, and can not wait to read more from Zizi.
Sweet Nightmares. By Zizi Cole.
Sweet Nightmares is about a woman who moves back to her home town after a decade. Not long after her return both her parents are murdered. The dreams start soon after their deaths. Then she is reunited with her high school sweetheart and the nightmares Take a nasty turn, now she isn’t just dreaming; now someone is chasing her. Suddenly she finds herself thrust into a world where ghosts are real, so is magic and it’s a part of her world now. As the situation escalates attempts are made on her life. The nightmares are becoming too real who is after her? Can she figure it out before it’s too late?
This is zizi’s debut novel and I have to say I enjoyed it immensely. The author takes you on a journey that to begin with reads like a phycological thriller. The lead character Lexi Is disturbed my dreams about her recently murdered parents. Feeling alone is the home town she left so many years ago, Lexi confides in the only person she can her cousin Mia. The story progresses slowly at first easing the reader into the characters and the time line of the events It was great to have a few lead characters rather than just one. Their individual personalities really brought the storey to life.
My interest really peaked when the fantasy element entered and became the dominant part of the story. I found the subject matter original, I haven't read a book like this one before. There is plenty of character development and back story; it's not a long book but it is full of action, mystery and magic. The love story element was a nice touch and I felt added to the adventure. Jake, lexis love interest was a really interesting character with a past of his own and secrets that are forced into the open. it was great to have something more to him then just being the leads eye candy. It was a real pleasure uncovering his personal story. In fact, there are so many interesting links between the characters, it really gives the book a richness.
I understand that this is the first part in a series and that was reinforced in the epilogue. It is a really good read with plenty of detail and an original idea. I am really looking forward to the next one, this is a new author to watch.
