Format: Paperback
This collection of short stories is incredible! The stories are engaging from the beginning to the end. It is a quick read and if you want to get your teenagers to read something relevant and evocative Sweet Orisa is it. The author explores topics that deal with the black community, issues that have plagued us for centuries: fatherlessness, adulthood, love, sacrafice, womanhood, femal-male relationships, black organizations like the Panthers and UNIA. You learn as your read these stories. He never ends a story like you may want it to end, but it may be because the issues in our community are not resolved. This book sould be placed in our children's school and actually get them to read literature that is relevant and intelligent.

Format: Paperback
This book is a collection of short stories that speak from the heart with sentiment. Mr. Nave brings his characters alive, giving the reader a vivid picture into their world. His narrative is geared for the young, but adults will cherish the symbolism and wonderful narrative skill of the author.

He deals with topics such as children growing up without a father; role models for the youth; and respect for oneself and others. He deals with challenges within the African-American community, touching on the black organizations like the Panthers and the UNIA. Each poetic tale has a moral behind it, where the reader will reflect back, long after they have closed the book.

Highly recommended!
