I loved this novella. Darach and Janet are wonderful leads. Their story started in The Seduction of Miss Amelia Bell. The attraction between them in that book was undeniable. This story picks up 7 months later - with both of them still attracted to the other but still trying to deny it.

The banter between these two is priceless. And Darach's inner musings are hilarious.

This story is short - but it is so good. The love scenes are steamy and Darach's declaration of love is sweet and moving.

I love this series and would recommend it to anyone.

This novella gives meaning to the phase quality vs. quantity. While a novella, The Sweet Surrender of Janet Buchanan gives the reader the satisfaction of reading a full novel with it's well crafted story. Part of the The MacGregors: Highland Heirs series, never a dull moment with the story of Darach and Janet. Looking for a highly enjoyable read in a time crunch this is it!

I can always count on having a great story when I read Paula Quinn's books. Janet Buchanan was in another of her books and am happy to read her story. Love historicals and if you like highlanders I recommend this book.

I seriously can not get over this series. Absolutely enjoyed Darach and Janet. They so deserve to be together, I couldn't help but laugh at these two, especially when they tried to deny their feelings towards each other.
Looking forward to reading more of this series

In ‘The Seduction of Miss Amelia Bell’ (book one of this series and my review of it here), is where these two first meet, but you don’t need to read that book to understand their story in this novella.

Be warned though that this is not a full novel but a short novella. That said, I loved it as it was and think it accomplished all the criteria for telling a full and rich love story which was sweet and held my interest from start to finish.

Paula Quinn is a master at storytelling and I love the way she takes me into the Scotland of long ago and introduces me to these intriguing and voluptuous characters that are fully fleshed out and real.

Darach MacGregor and Janet Buchanan couldn’t be more unsuited to one another, yet both find themselves having a hard time getting each other out of their minds even though they haven’t laid eyes on each other in a while.

I loved both characters very much separately, but boy when they were together, there were so many sparks! If there ever was an Alpha Female created, Janet would be one of those and she was a perfect mate for this Alpha Male hero with a heart of a poet. Both were so much alike, strong-willed and hard-headed; devoted to their families and passionate about things that mattered to them; stubborn to the core when it came to who will give into whom, but once the passion within them about each other ignited, there was little they could do but give into it.

As with all Paula Quinn’s novels, this one too is well told with fully developed characters and a perfect introduction into her next book in the series ‘The Wicked Ways of Alexander Kidd’ and Caitrina’s story.

If you are into men in kilts and fearless women, this will be a perfect little romance for you.

I am a Paula Quinn fan, but I just think this novella fell short and was not typical of her work. Before starting this story, I had just finished The Wicked Ways of Alexander Kidd, which I loved. So this story was just pale in comparison. I just couldn't get into the story and didn't feel connected to the characters. I was actually eager for it to be over. There were some OK moments between Janet and Darach but as a whole I think their romance was too rushed and was not built on enough interaction between them. The plot was a bit disappointing as well. This series has some really strong novels to recommend it but you could easily let this one pass.

I had not read any of these authors stories before. I realize now that their relationship started in book one. It did not deter me from enjoying the story. Darach Grant and Janet Buchanan had met two years before. He was injured and she nursed him. He loves the ladies but he has never forgotten her.His cousin asks him to go protect his home frorm the enemy . Darach does not want to go as he will see Janet again and he is afraid of his feelings for her. He does not want a wife.Janet was not sure either about seeing him and how she felt. This short novella is about their new relationship can they find love on a permanent basis this time. I am going to go back and read book one but you can easlly enjoy it as a stand a lone book. The ending was a little quick but it is a novella.

I'm a huge fan of Paula Quinn's Highlanders - the bold, brawny men and the courageous lasses who claim their hearts. After seeing the fire between Darach and Janet in The Seduction of Miss Amelia Bell (you don't have to read this first but it will give you a deeper appreciation of Janet and Darach's relationship), I was among the many begging for their happy ending. While only 25,000 words, Ms. Quinn has given me all I desired in this fast-paced, emotional, action-packed story of honor, betrayal, loyalty and love.
