The Wedding Charm - Sarah & Ben are still competing after all these years. It felt like the Amazing Race but they were the only ones competing and had to do so together. Do these two really "hate" each other or is it something else? Love the tasks they had to complete.
Sassy Bride - Sadie & Ashton are from opposites worlds but so much in love. His mom was UGH!!!! Sadie had to raise her two younger sisters and has always put yourself last. Loved how Ashton puts her first even in front of his difficult mother.
Hit and Run Love - Kallie & Harrison literally run into each other. Quite funny scene. Loved how he wouldn't give up. He was swoony worthy in the way he talked to, about, and treated Kallie.
Since this Southern girl loves a good glass of sweet tea this clean sweet anthology hit the spot on a hot relaxing day. The stories are varied and unique within the Southern setting. I enjoyed and like them all so it was hard to choose a favorite.
A Kiss is Just a Kiss by Melinda Curtis a sibling determined to stop her sister’s wedding. I knew where this story was going, what I didn’t know was how much I wanted it to do just that.
Taste of Tara by Shanna Hatfield with the cowboy and chef characters on a Southern planation. It is a wonderful, fun read.
The Wedding Charm by Susan Hatler is a romance within a scavenger hunt wedding story. This enemies to truce to love is a romantic story for the books. I enjoyed the progress of the characters’ feelings who began the story still holding grudges against each other from their youth.
Sassy Bride by Ciara Knight is a reminder to believer in ourselves and those who love us despite the naysayers.
It Could Happen to Us by Lucy McConnell has lottery tickets, a cop, a waitress and an actor all rolled into one story.
Hit and Run Love by Jennifer Peel has an officer of the law and a lawyer who are exs in a delightful second chance read as their paths again cross. One of my favorites because I really liked the characters which is not always the case with lawyers.
An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley.
A Kiss is Just a Kiss is a cute romantic comedy with a protective older sister sabotaging her sister's wedding out of a sense of duty after hearing the groom say something just before the wedding. The author takes us on a ride that made me laugh out loud and then I had to explain to my husband...
Love their story.
Taste of Tara takes you to an old south home and a pastry chef named Tara whose family has a thing for Gone With the Wind even though she grew up in Oregon. Sweet story with a dashing man who of course falls head over heels for her.
The Wedding Charm is another romantic comedy with Sarah and Ben thrown into a situation of doing crazy things to retrieve a wedding keepsake for their friends. A precious story of two people who needed a push to get together. Yes, I smiled at the silly things they did. Yes, I loved it.
I had more trouble with Sassy Bride. I had such a hard time with Sadie's actions of trying to fit in for the sake of her rich future husband. Yes, her future mother in law was loathsome. How did that woman raise a good son? She had no redeeming qualities, none. I realize this is fiction, but I struggle with characters who allow their worth to be defined by others. Still a good story.
I enjoyed the Cinderella aspects of It Could Happen to Us. Sweet story. I loved the selfless character of Allie. I have known people that selfless, but they are definitely few and far between. You have to hope in this world that little girls will indeed have such a selfless individual come into their lives when a marriage fails.
Hit and Run Love touched me as Kallie struggled with the loses in her young life. I adored Harrison as he stumbled around to figure out how to find his way into Kallie's life. I loved the loving men in her life who supported her.
All in all a sweet collection of well edited novellas. Each one is a fairly quick read, but complete. Leaves you wanting a bit more about the characters and hoping the authors have more stories coming so you can catch up with the other characters introduced in the books, but not left hanging in any way.
