PLEASE READ THE WHOLE THING. Here's the deal: I've owned this shaver for 5 months. You will simply not get the level of sophistication and performance of this shaver from the more established brands, at such a low price. As of this date (5/1/23), you can buy this shaver on Amazon for $36 with the $11 coupon discount. To get something roughly similar from Braun, Norelco, Remington, Philips, etc., you will need to spend at least $90...and even then you probably won't get some of the features from the SweetLF. It gives an excellent shave. Probably, not as precise as the high-end name brand shavers, but very, very close. The 5-level lighted battery readout is a distinguishing feature that you won't find on more expensive shavers. It's relatively easy to clean. The push button switch has a very nice feel that even better shavers don't. The rotary blades are standard size and you can find cheap replacements online. (So far, the ones I've been using are going strong, but they all need replacement at some point.) But, the one feature that I find really great is battery life and USB charging. The battery lasts a very long time and the battery life meter is quite accurate. Still, I don't worry about the battery running down because it charges to full extremely quickly. Best of all, it doesn't require a special charger. It uses any standard USB ports. This has been wonderful. I have charged this at my desk, in my car, and using the USB outlet in my bathroom. (The only minor issue is the micro-USB, instead of USB-C...but, this isn't a dealbreaker.) So, for $36-47 this shaver does a nice job. BUT, IT HAS A SIGNIFICANT FLAW THAT MOST CHEAP CHINESE SHAVERS SEEM TO HAVE - specifically a really flimsy head door mechanism. Since switching from blades two years ago, I've invested in THREE different CHINESE brand cordless shavers on Amazon. ALL of them delivered a nice shave. But, the common problem was that the door mechanism falls apart (usually in 4-6 months) due to bad design, bad assembly, or bad materials. In my first two shavers, the hinge just pulled out or broke away from the plastic cowling. One week ago, the little plastic nub (about the size of a pencil lead) broke away from the spring-loaded button on my SweetLF. Now, the door won't stay shut and due to the design, there is really no way to fix it. CONCLUSION: Would I buy another one of these shavers? In fact, I would. BUT, with one caveat. Buy the Amazon warranty plan (for $2.99 to $3.99), or use a credit card that has buyer protection. I've thought a lot about this. I was buying $10 worth of Harry's blades every month, so I was sinking $120/year into blade shaving and dealing with the whole monthly shipment deal...along with a lot of waste. As I already noted, the best shavers cost upwards of $90 and to be safe I'd end up buying a $120+ shaver to be safe. Even then, I've been looking to pay for expensive, name-brand blade replacements. (Most of which cost in excess of $40 a set.) So, if I can find a cheap ($35-50) cordless shaver and add $4 for a two-year warranty (or get free credit card buyers protection), it is worth changing out units twice a year. At least, this works for me. May work for you, too. But, there's the straight, unvarnished truth. Do with it, what you will. Good luck!
UPDATE: 5/8/23 - To their credit, the seller saw my review and reached out to me, offering a full refund for the product. I consider this a very decent gesture, considering that I already indicated that I would buy the product again (with a warranty, this time around). While it is likely that the quality of the product remains the same, this actually does add to the case for buying it, in my opinion. The seller is obviously concerned with perceptions of the product. So, this can only reduce the risk of trying the product. At this point, I still plan on buying another one.
UPDATE: 5/21/23 - To be legitimate, these user reviews need to be fair and complete. It would be remiss to not include the unusually diligent follow-up that this manufacturer made to me even after issuing a refund. It was not necessary, but it does show a concern about public perception and a desire to improve the product and brand. Personally, I'm impressed. I've pasted it below. Draw from it, what you will:
