I feel like the world S McPherson has built in this serie gets more and more complex and interesting as the story grows. This book was full of mysteries, action, revelations and friendships.
I really enjoyed reading about the Court and the realms in Caught In The Ripples, and I was happy to find all of that again in Swept Away.
Indeed, we get to discover the new realms and creatures, so this was really fascinating.
In this third book, the characters also developed a lot. I enjoyed getting to know more about Lexovia, Dezaray, Milo, Yvane, Howard, Nathaniel and Jude and see them use their powers. Jude actually became one of my favorite characters at the end of this book. I loved reading about Vladimir & Lexovia relationship (so much that I actually would have liked to read more about it!) We also meet some new characters that are truly endearing. It was great to see new friendships forming between those, especially between Coltis and Corporeals...
And then there's Diez... the true vilain of the story! Because what's a book without a good vilain?
The ending, like in the first two books, was quite epic. But I felt like it happened a little bit to fast comparing to the rest of the story. While some parts of the story were sometimes a bit slow, I would have liked the story to slow down a bit towards the end to have more details about the characters' feelings.
In conclusion, this book was a really good third book in the serie, and I can not wait to read the next one to follow the character's adventures and to return into Coldivor once again!
I have to say that I simply loved this book, because the way it was written makes you feel part of the story and that you know like the palm of your hand the characters.
This books is complete; it contains action, romance, a court, a little suspense, and more.
Warning: once your start this book you won't be able to stop, and when you finish it will leave wanting more.
I loved the way S.McPherson writes because it's simply perfect, the descriptions are so good that you feel you are in there. And not to mention the voice that she gives every character in which you really feel you at inside the head of that person. Like I said, it makes you feel like you were there when all this story happened.
In one word this book "perfect".
I highly recommend it.
SWEPT AWAY by S. McPherson is the third book in the WATER RUSHES series, and in my opinion her best book, yet. Honestly, I have read each book of this enthralling series, and they just keep getting better and better.
SWEPT AWAY is so filled with adventure and action that I could barely catch my breath before being…well, “swept away” by the next exciting event in the story. There are many twists, turns and surprises in this book, too. Perhaps the biggest surprise of all is about Milo…but no spoilers here…everyone can read and discover these things for themselves.
I enjoyed the addition of new characters and the interactions of the non-magicals (humans) with the residents of Coldivor. I was also glad to see Jude given the “spotlight” a bit more in this book. I felt he had kind of gotten shoved aside a bit in the first and second books, and he, after all is the one who introduced Desaray to Fernavil and has been her constant support and advisor on her quest to make it possible for the humans of Islon to interact freely with the population of Colivor as they once did in ages past.
I definitely recommend this book very highly, and anxiously await the next book in this amazing series.
So much was going on. It was a rollercoaster. I really don’t like it when authors force the pairings to separate after they had just gotten together. But I didn’t even mind it here. So much exciting stuff was happening. The backstories were so well crafted. And the whole book kept me on my toes.
I now love Milo more than ever. He just turned into my favorite thing.
And the ending? Mind-freaking-blown. What a plot twist.
The only thing that I found difficult was the constant change in point of views. Now I know it’s important to tell such a vast story. But even though I enjoyed all the POVs, it disrupted the flow. Like I would be so engrossed in reading from one character’s POV and then the POV would switch and BAM! my reading flow would break.
My love for this series and this world is ever increasing and no one is happier than me to know that there are gonna be two more books! *squeals*.
I’ll just go and try to make some fanart while I wait for the next book. Though, I’m not really good at it. Lmao.
