I'm not sure if my ears are atypically sensitive or if this stuff is just really strong, but it wasn't of much use to me because, the first time I put it in, it felt like my ears were on fire. If you don't have sensitive skin, this might work for you - it has isopropyl alcohol which helps to remove water from the ears, but that is, I suspect, what caused me such ungodly discomfort.

When we go swimming, water always gets stuck
in our ears.
You put a few drops in your ear, turn your
head so the water can run out, and swoosh the water immediately runs out.
The alcohol makes the water run out and the glycerin keeps your ear from drying.

Seems to work, but its just a stronger concentration of isopropyl alcohol (95 percent). I would assume the reason the other reviewer's daughter had a problem was because she already had an ear infection or lesions in the ear.

Well, i got some water in my ear while i was washing my hair and it stayed stuck in there for about a day. I was really worried about how to get it out and i tried some of everything (ie: banging my head on the side, sleeping on the ear, pouring water down it, and blowdrying it) I was afraid that I might have to go to the ear doctor. Luckily i looked online and found out about this product. I went to the store, bought it and after dropping a few drops in the clogged ear, the water came out :)

My husband is very sensitive to water in his ears -even from the shower, not just swimming. He's tried the knock off versions, but always comes back to the original Swim-Ear drops. He says they work very quickly and don't irritate his ears or cause a ticklish feeling.

I have been using Swim Ear for years and love it! This is an essential part of my bathroom supplies and travel bag. Sure, you can make a similar solution by mixing isopropyl alcohol (diluted with water) but that is not always convenient.

TO HELP YOU:
I added two pictures (front and back of the bottle) since the product picture does not give you an idea of how big the bottle is nor are the ingredients listed in the description on the Amazon page.

MY STORY:
I grew up with a pool and a lake in my backyard. Water would always be left in my ears after swimming and having one of these bottles was a lifesaver as a kid...especially since I seemed prone to ear infections if I didn't use it. The last thing my parents probably wanted was me mixing supplies together under the bathroom counter. When I went off to college, I continue to do water sports and you can't exactly carry a bottle of isopropyl alcohol inside of a kayak. I could carry this container and squirt a little bit if I got completely clogged up. Sure, I could have easily bought a plastic bottle and made my own solution but these containers aren't terribly expensive and it's already done for me. Nowadays, I am not in the water as much but I did have a problem with an ear after having hung out in a pool. I walked around for a day or so feeling very odd, the isopropyl alcohol helped relieve the discomfort, but the Swim Ear did the complete trick! I couldn't find any nearby drug or convenience store with it so I went straight to Amazon which, of course, had it.

OVERALL:
If you're on the edge about buying the bottle, do it. It always clears up my ears very quickly.

This stuff works really well. I went to the beach and had water stuck in my ear for a few days. Ordered this on Prime, it came in super quick, and within two days of use, the water dried up in my ear.
