Laney can overcome her struggles when she finds out that her chocolate internship is gone with help from the head of the Pet Food division. I love how real she was and how Yves wasn't a swoony, stereotypical romantic lead.
There were some wonderful insights into life in Switzerland. I loved the scene in the country with Yves' cousin.
I appreciate how much time was spent researching chocolate. Books with food are so much better when the author has a personal investment in making/working with the food. Not to mention, chocolate is amazing.
The romance level in this book really built slowly, yet steadily. I loved that! Laney and Yves don't seem to be the whirlwind romance type of people. The attraction was there from the start but their day to day, comic, tragic, revealing, and stressful encounters were delightful.
I found it to be a bit reminiscent of You've Got Mail/The Shop Around the Corner.
Grab a bar of good chocolate and curl up with this book!
The title, Swiss Mishap, is perfect for this sweet story. I loved the foreign location. Ms. Zeigler's writing style pulled me into the story so deeply, I could practically taste the chocolate.
Highly recommended if you're looking for a tasty, light-hearted summer read.
