SwissStop is one of those rare companies whose obsession puts them above their peers in the industry. You see, SwissStop pads are made by a Swiss company named Rex Articoli SA. They manufacture high-tech rubber bits for industry. In fact, SwissStop brake pads are the only consumer item that they produce. Their 70 years of experience in technical compounds allows them to produce brake pads with highly tuned performance characteristics. SwissStop pads have superior stopping power, low pad-wear rates, very linear brake response, and a smooth, quiet performance. Think of them as the Assos or the SRM of brake pads. FlashPro means one thing: These are compatible with Shimano and SRAM brake pad holders. To better the performance over the previous Flash pads, the FlashPro has deeper asymmetrical grooves and a more pronounced leading edge profile. The idea is to "squeegee" away more water to improve the wet weather performance and the deeper grooves help give the pads better modulation. They increased the total pad depth with more material above the wear line -- good news for those folks that live in the high mountains. The Original Black compound is SwissStop's standard all-purpose replacement pad for aluminum rims. It's ideal if you don't use carbon rims and if you don't relish the idea of riding in the rain. Please note that they do just fine in the rain, but SwissStop makes better pads for you if you find yourself in the wet stuff on a regular basis. One order gets you 4 pads total -- enough for one bike.

Then I heard about these Black Prince Pads - bought a set - put them on and now I can tell you - it ain't the wheels - it's the pads. These Black Prince Pads are MAGNIFICENT - They feel on my carbon wheels even better than the GXPs felt on my aluminum wheels. THe feel is soft, firm supple, confident, precise, feathered - I don't even know what else to write - these Brake Pads are the Bomb and have completely changed my riding experience on my new carbon wheels. SWISS STOP - You Nailed It With These Pads. The only thing I cant comment on is braking in wet conditions because I've only ridden them dry, but so far I'm impressed.
My only gripe with these brake pads are the screws that came with them. Terrible! They had blue lock-tight on them and required 2mm allens. Three of the four screws rounded off and I had to yank them out with pliers. I removed the last screw with lock-tight and just cleaned the old screws to use with the brake shoes. If you are going to use these screws, I recommend cleaning off any lock-tight on the threads or using new screws from the local hardware store with at least 2.5mm allen or anything better (i.e. Phillips head, Torx head)
Update: I promised a update on these pads and here it is. The pads have about 2.5k miles on them and I still have plenty of wear left on them. The stopping power when dry are awesome, no issues, I've locked up my rear a few times and the front grabs well and modulates pretty good. Once my wheels get a buildup of rubber/dirt they do squeal a bit but not too obnoxious, and every other carbon I've heard has about the same level of annoyance. I've gotten to know some good cyclist who just state "welcome to carbon rims". I've read some reviews about wearing issues but I've had no issues and I've definitely put some miles on them. Not sure how those guys ride or their terrain, I've stated I live in Seattle and have plenty of hills to test them on. So maybe I don't like to brake much? Group rides: Chilly Hilly, STP, Gigantic Ride Festivle (recommend) and Tour de Blast (highly rec). Pads have seen some country side.....
After 3 week riding out on 60 miles , these breaks are awesome, no scratch sound whatsoever and I can feel the grip. Excellent!!!
