THIS is what I wanted when I was looking for a way to switch my headphones between two laptops, both running high-end audio editing/sequencing programs. I actually bought two different ones, the other came a day earlier and I was bummed because I didn’t think to order a 1/8”(3.5mm) male to male audio jack cable. I had one, but would need another to run from the output jacks on both MacBooks, into the box and my headphones into the front.
The first box was relatively sleek, minimalist and has two small buttons on top, marked 1 & 2. It’s also very light as it’s made of plastic, but seemed to do the job.
Then THIS one arrived today. First thing I noticed upon opening it was a high quality, woven covered audio jack cable. The next thing I noticed was the box itself. It is about half the size of what was already a pretty small (to me) splitter, but was made entirely of a durable, matte black metal. It has a great, solid feel and heft to it, there’s two small buttons on the top of the box, one on either side of a raised black, aluminum volume knob. One button allows you to switch between inputs and the other mutes all channels. This is just a really good mash-up of form and function. Worth every penny of its very inexpensive price!
