"He's gonna need a lot of help with this, so make sure he's careful and maybe it'll last more than an hour."
"Well," he said, "maybe it'll be a really fun hour for him."
"Let's hope so," I answered.
He opened the box and was so excited. He started zipping around the living room with it, half-flying it towards the ceiling fan and crashing into the dining room chairs, the wall, the dog. It never broke. His dad slowed him down a bit, suggesting the great outdoors as a possible venue with fewer obstacles. In short, he was thrilled, it was that one present your kid plays with on Christmas while ignoring everything else, which is, of course, the goal of every grandfather.
I had to leave soon, but on my way home I received a video of my grandson doing flips with it outside and flying way up in the heavens till it disappeared. As far as I know, three weeks later he's still crazy about the darn thing.
Yeah, I'd say it was a hit. Might have to get one for myself.
Just as I knew it would be was a huge smash. The first and second days were great, she was happy and I was pleased with such a great toy for such a reasonable price. At this point my husband hasn't opened his yet. After giving the toy a well deserved rest she was back at it the next day.
Then after two battery changes the car began to make a very high pitched noise when in "drive" mode and would no longer fly. The back two tires would not leave the ground, the car would only lift the front two tires off the ground. I thought the battery may be low so I swapped it out, still no luck.
Now all I have is a "flying" car that pops wheelies. I can't even the traditional aspect of the car because it of the high pitched squealing noise. As the mother of two very rambunctious children, I dont need any more noise. Sadly I will be returning both the cars. I'm not going to give the other car the chance to go out on me and cost me more money. Now that leaves me stuck with extra batteries that I can't used for anything else. Very disappointing.
