Top Customer Reviews
They are gorgeous, very possibly the most gorgeous earbuds I've seen. I don't really give a fig about the aesthetics of my earbuds as a rule (the ones I've been using for the past two years are white, plastic, and came free with the phone). But if I'm going to choose between two and one looks this awesome . . . there's not much of a choice.
They sound really great. I'm not an audiophile, but these definitely sound better than my last set, and probably as good as my Sony earbuds that I use on the plane (I use those instead of these because they are active noise-cancelling). In the end, though, they sound incredible considering they are significantly south of $30.
Instead of a single button, they have a volume up/down control as well. The buttons are easy to feel and press without looking at them, and the strip they are on is very small and light.
They not only come with three sets of silicone inserts in different sizes . . . but also three sets of black silicone inserts in different sizes. When I looked at them I literally said, "Hey, it's too bad the earbud part doesn't come in black." Lo and behold, it does!
They also come with a nice bag to hold the headphones, which I really appreciate, and a pretty nicely-designed clip that attaches to the cord so you can clip it to your shirt (to give you some slack on the weight pulling on your ears).
There honestly isn't anything I'd say is a "con". Something I listed as a "pro" is a double-edged sword, though. While I love how small and light the controls are . . . if they were bigger they'd be easier to see/feel. You'll very quickly learn to push them by touch, looking at them in anything other than really bright light is going to take too long. If given the option between big/bulky/heavy and thin/light/unobtrusive . . . I'd definitely take the latter. Not everyone would, though, so I thought that I'd throw it in.
Also not a con, but a consideration depending on what you are plugging these into: the headphone jack comes out at a 45° angle. This is probably fine for about 98% of people (about 75% of statistics are made up on the spot), but I know that some people have specific applications where they want it to come straight out or at a 90° angle. In my case, it works perfectly.
First and foremost they sound great. Yes, there are many better, but nothing I've found in this price rage comes close. The highs are sharp, the mids are excellent with some eq tweeking, and the bass is powerful. It really comes down to a good eq setting. The mic is very clear also, as good as my phones factory mic.
The construction of the headphones is outstanding. The cord is almost like a bouncy rubber that doesn't snag or get tangled. The connectors are gold plated, and very strong. The headphones feel good, not great in your ear. I've never been a fan of 100% round buds, because that's not the shape of the ear. But I have worn them for 6 hours straight without pain.
All and all you cant go wrong with these, and ill be buying more for sure. They also come with a carry bag, and 2 sets of extra buds.
They come with different size ear bud silicone thingies (technical term ;) ) so you get a good fit.
They stay in your ear during low to moderate activity. I haven't gone for a run or anything with them, but wouldn't run with them anyways.
I like the pouch they come in. It helps me keep track of them.
As far as sound quality, I guess I'd give them a 7-8. That might seem low, but first of all they are less than $30. They're not for 'audiophiles'. Secondly, the biggest complaint about the sound is that the lower frequencies can be a little muddy. But again, these are not $300 over-ear headphones.
As long as you get a good connection (you seat the ear buds in your ears) you get good bass, just a little muddy. Obviously, ear buds can only reproduce good bass frequencies if they are sealed to your ear, other wise all that sound energy just escapes the soft ear bud thingies (again with the technical jargon, hehehe)
For the money, these are great. I'm probably going to buy another set in case I lose the first set, or to have a spare at work when i want to listen to music.
Overall, great product with a good build quality. For most people, the sound quality will be just fine.
IF you consider yourself an audiophile, you wouldn't be looking to buy anything in this lower price range anyways :)
