Also, just as a side note, before purchasing these headphones I found a lot of reviews of this product questionable, saying that it is the best headphone they've ever purchased. I still decided to go through with trying these out, and in all honesty, these are average/mediocre headphones. I can say with confidence that if these are the best earbuds anyone has ever bought, then this must be the first pair of earbuds they've ever owned. It's just a bit sketchy is all so beware.
I wrote my original review a couple of weeks ago and just wanted to provide a quick update. I had failed to mention that because of the deal I found on these headphones at the time of purchase, I decided to get two pairs in case I really liked them, or in the event that one didn't last. Since the first pair lasted just under a month, I've moved on to the second pair, and a couple of weeks in I can tell the same issue is starting to happen, with one of the sides crackling (music not played at maximum volume), and sometimes cutting out completely.Read more ›
*UPDATE* Vendor contacted me and offered to ship an expedited replacement pair at no cost, even though outside of the return period. All I can say is although there are times when you have quality control issues or defects, that is life and unfortunate. These things happen, we're not perfect. This vendor took care of the problem 100%
The standard earbuds that come along with Apple products are some of the worst. Like many earbuds out there, they are horrible sound and uncomfortable. I desperately needed something else.
This product is actually shaped to fit into the human ear. I don't know whose or what's ear so many earbuds out there are shaped to fit into, but they are horrid. They don't fit at all, hence pop out, and when they stay in, they hurt. And because they don't fit, the clarity and volume fluctuate. It's unacceptable. This product feels great, cuts out almost all outside noise, and the sound is incredible. I'm comparing this all to the awful Apple earbuds I had.
The cording is also a far more malleable material than the plasticy-rubbery substance a lot of products out there are made of. Therefore, they hang and move better. They are also longer than standard, hence you're not constantly yanking the buds out of your ears all the time. They're not always catching on things.
Maybe there's a product out there even better than this, but I give this two thumbs up. I recommend without hesitation and would purchase again.
I have to say, I'm quite impressed. These may be the best, low-priced, in-ear noise-isolating headphones I've had the pleasure to use. I can't wait to try the microphone.
I did notice similar problems as others indicated - audio fluctuating and voices sounding far away. I was creating a ticket to return these and noticed that the audio jack was hazy. I cleaned it up with a clean towel and tried again and it works perfectly now. I think there might be some sort of petroleum product on the audio jack to keep it from corroding, which was causing conductivity problems. Try cleaning yours to see if it resolves the problem.
Really happy with these. I would have given it 5 stars if they were cheaper, if I didn't have to deal with the problems that I did in the beginning, or that the manufacturer's website was live.
My one criticism of these is that the cord is too long (for me at least). There's a definite sweet spot with cords: long enough that you can keep your phone in the side pockets of cargo shorts, but short enough that they aren't dangling and getting caught on things. These are on the long side--so much so that I don't usually use them in the gym, where I plug my buds into an iPod shuffle clipped to my shirt.
Still, this is a minor complaint in comparison with the excellent sound quality and fit. Highly recommended!!
