I feel strongly for Preston and Megan's mother and her many health and emotional struggles. Great depth to the storyline.
Not as fast paced as 'Destiny' but more poignant. Shows the growth of the author as well.
I guess I wish Destiny would have made just one decision in this story, but it seems everyone else is calling the shots for her.
I am excited to read the third book, though! I enjoy these stories and am looking forward to more.
Preston plays a bigger part in this book. I really like Preston. I really like Isaac too. I'm not usually a fan of love triangles, because someone always gets hurt and it's usually the guy I'm cheering for. I have a pretty good guess as to who Destiny will end up with, but the author might surprise me. Isaac was the hero of book 1, but he disappointed me in this book. He did some stupid things at the beginning that knocked him down a peg or two. Preston swooped in and impressed me—for a while. I'm not picking a side yet because there are things about both guys that I like and dislike. Although Preston gets an extra point for being so loyal. He's been in love with Destiny his whole life, and it's adorable.
The characters all frustrated me at one point or another by making selfish or desperate decisions. I don't mean this is a negative way—only that I screamed, "No, don't do that!" several times throughout the book. I loved the drama and the way they all changed over the course of the story. There is more going on with the minor characters as well. Friends and family members have some developments that play into Destiny's decisions and add to the tension. As with the first book, religion plays a big factor in the story. Not in a preachy way, but it's part of the characters' lives and affects their decisions. The author handled it well.
The only thing I didn't like was how the characters thought about marriage so much. They were all high school students. It seemed premature for them to be thinking about forever. But honestly, that was a very minor complaint. I liked the book a lot. I especially liked the way the characters changed for the better, even if they made mistakes along the way. I'm not sure how everything is going to resolve in the final book, but I will definitely be reading it.
Content: One of the characters has an unplanned pregnancy and there is lots of kissing, but I consider this book clean.
