This book helps students learn to recognize rhythmic patterns in a piece of music so that they may improve their overall sight reading. It helps a player work on their drumming technique and their confidence when he is performing music. The Synergy Method will be dependent on letting the body learn the coordination through repetition, i.e. muscle and brain memory. This book will help a player break down the negative barriers keeping them from advancing in their performance. If one thinks that he can't play a work of music just because it "looks" difficult, he will never advance in his studies. Performing is strictly mental. If you can visualize yourself playing, then the mind coordinates the body to do such a job. The exercises in this book focuses on stick and energy control, the most important characteristics in performing on not just the snare drum, but also all percussion instruments. Having control gives the performer the opportunity to incorporate his heart into his performance.
The Synergy Method is a must have for every percussionist, no matter their lever of skill or primary instrument(s). I highly recommend this book for your musical library. This book improved my sight reading, I'm learning pieces faster than ever. It is truly an honor to have this book...
