Had to buy the book for class but as most textbooks in college, it does not teach much. I am a database administrator and when I read the sections on database design and administration I actually laughed.

The author clearly has limited experience in the technological field. It seems like it was written by a manager who knows nothing about what their employees do, but has mastered the buzz words of the field.

I teach systems analysis courses, and this book is an excellent text for us. It is easy to read, well-researched, and describes current real-world thinking in this field. It has many good case studies, along with an on-line virtual company case study that is unique. I highly recommend this book.

The book covers a broad spectrum of systems issues and is a good introduction for the aspiring systems analyst. Systems Analysis and Design would go well in a classroom setting as it does well to outline and explain the roles, environment, and tools of a systems analyst.
The book was written to help prepare the reader for the Master CIW Enterprise Developer certification exam (Database Specialist).

This book definitely deserves to be in the classroom. It has the information in an organized way with great chapter summaries for review. The one thing I didn't care for was the electronic CourseMate. Would have preferred to receive my book without it and pay less.

Really bad and useless book. Just a waste of space on the bookshelf. My common sense is tingling that all these reviewers are really fake or never actually used it. It explains very little on how to property create diagrams. A lot of the projects have the most vague assignments I have ever seen. Many of the assignments won't even be explained at all in the book or would be explained in the next chapter but with not enough information needed to perform the work. Be prepared to be doing extreme google research instead of using this book. I've been forced to use this book for a class and thank god I have a very easy teacher. If you have a teacher who is really aggressive in his/her assignment grading then you will be doing google A LOT and be barely using this book, mainly just to get your assignments or for your tests. I am seriously wondering if this book was literally written by a child.

The book is easy to read and understand, but it is supposed to come with a printed access card to allow access to additional resources on the website. My book was missing this card. There was nothing in the description while ordering the book to indicate that this item was needed.

Back to the book... it is clear and concise with good examples. Some things are a bit wrong or impractical for real-world use, but it is acceptable for providing an overview for a beginner.

The text book was prescribed for the Course that I attended.
It is an excellent book! It is easy to read, got plenty of practical case studies, review questions, quality graphics, etc. The subject has been well researched and written in an easy to follow format.
I found the on-line sites useful and powerful. Plenty of referals, etc.
Excellent Book!!!
