I needed this book for research to make a set of different scale drawings of the T-6 and its various derivatives.
I had made similar drawings in the 1970s but without proper research and that's why I ordered this book to get a good oversight of the various types and their peculiar differences so I could make the drawings accurate.
This book has the pictures
I was hoping to find plus the text to confirm or contradict what I thought I already knew about the aircraft.
So it definitely lived up to my expectations and in that sense it was a good buy, as it would be for anyone trying to learn more about this aircraft of which there is more than the habitual T-6 Texan frequently seen on air shows or other flight demonstrations. Modelers hoping to find detail pictures of the aircraft will have to look elsewhere because this book does not include what they will be looking for and with 30 years of experience in modeling I know what they want and need. This book is not it. But to show differences and the different countries that used the T-6 I can recommend it.

If you grew up with the T-6 till its retirement with the RNZAF in the 1970s, one gets to a liking to it then in the years later you get to see them at airshows all over the world, go for rides in them you get to understand why its a 'Pilot Maker' , I already have the pilots notes and the aircraft pilot introduction manual , this book covers the history of specific Harvard/Texan with a photo good description of the history of that aircraft and the photo's are gorgeous, Peters book is ideal simply to pick up and have a lite reed ... I want Peter C.Smiths Vol.2 , I'll wait a little longer for that but if it's anything like Vol.1, it a must.
