Really added some precision to my work, and speed to my measurements!
The metal is fairly delicate, so it will bent if you drop it on a corner.
I'm still searching for the perfect pencil to wok with this, as the .5mm lead mechanical pencils tend to break the lead a lot, but mine are the really cheapo's, so maybe that's the reason. Most of this is probably user error and getting used to it, so again I can't dock it for that given what it does for you.
I've just been using the slots, and haven't really tried the holes yet, as you can scribe with them just as easily. I'm going to try a fine point sharpie at some point.
Much more accurate and fast than a speed square and a straight edge, and much cheaper than a decent combination square, and more accurate in use than either, as the slot determines where the line goes, not the edge of a straight edge. I also ordered the 18" but haven't used it yet.
Plop it against your reference edge, find the right number, scribe your line and get on with your life.
I'm most concerned about abrading the labels. If you rub some off the rule will be hard to use.
The only thing i can say as a warning would be that this is a tool you should dedicate a drawer or cabinet shelf to, I wouldn't recommend hanging it or having it placed precariously on the bench all the time. The rule is made of steel that isn't perfectly rigid, so treat it with care if you buy it.
Incra will be the go to company for me from now on whenever i'm in the market for measuring tools!
