The T-Rex Raptor is a set of Five (5) Speakers. Plus the Matching Powered SubWoofer! The T-Rex Raptors are only $499.00 for the set! The Left Front and Right Front are floor standing speakers. They have a 1" Dome Tweeter, two 5.25" Midrange Speakers, & one 8" Woofer mounted in a bass reflex cabinet design. The Raptor Towers are 6.8 Ohms nominal load. The Center Channel is a horizontal speaker that compliments the Front Speakers. It has a .75" Dome Tweeter, and two 4" Midrange Speakers. The Raptor Center Speaker are 6.8 Ohms nominal load. The Center Channel Speaker should be positioned above the TV/Monitor. The Rear Speakers can be easily wall mounted in the back of the room. The Front Raptors measure 33" Tall x 8" Wide x 10" Deep. The T-Rex Raptor sets come in two finish colors Black and Cherry. The cabinets are made of medium density fiberboard with a vinyl pvc coating. The coating looks and feels like wood. This is not the "picture board" found at most home centers. Most people will not be able to tell that these are not wood veneer cabinets. The Brontosaurus is a 100 Watt Powered Subwoofer with a 10" Long Throw Dual Voice Coil Speaker! Priced at $499.00 this is a Kickin Value! This Sub reacts like a much larger SubWoofer due to the Long Throw! The Dual Voice Coil allows for a Kickin' Bass Punch in the Room!

These are a little nicer than even the picture portrays. Cabinets seem to be finished nice, and are comparable in weight to other towers of this size. The center/surrounds are spring clip terminals, but the towers actually have binding posts. Which is nice to see. Center is actually of good size comparable to a bic dv52 I had or similar in size, and I can see through the port it is insulated so I'm going to guess without looking at them all right now that all the speakers are insulated. Also the T-Rex emblems aren't near as gaudy in person as I thought they would be. From the manual included listing specs they seem to have fairly good sensitivity as well @89db. I think if you're on a very very limited budget and truely want a 5.0 setup, these would be a great purchase. Whether you're like me and looking to make them temporary til you can afford better or aren't into spending thousands on speakers for your home theater(who could blame you..). I mean where can you even get a pair of towers with two 6" woofers, dome tweeter and one 8" woofer for under $200.00 to your door? I know speakers well and I can't think of any. Are they made in china? Yep. But most every speaker is, or is made up of components made in china anyways.
If you have $400.00 to spend on a 5.0 set there are other options that may or may not be better that come into play. Such as fluance or jamo, etc. But if you're wanting a 5.0 setup with true speakers and not dinky satalite speakers for under $200.00 then this is on the only way to go.
I was a little upset that they weren't selling these sets with the subwoofer anymore or didn't even had the subwoofer available anymore. But I'm ok with it now. As used and even cheap new powered subwoofers are easy enough to find.
