Anyway, back to the t-fal pans. These cook amazingly. I think that they are aluminum (based on their weight) and so they heat up very quickly. With their plastic handles, they are extremely lightweight. The nonstick coating works well, and I've been using them regularly for a couple months now. I don't have to use any kind of oil to cook eggs if I don't want to, although oil will still make them ever so slightly less sticky. It makes little difference. I've also been washing them in the dishwasher and haven't noticed any issues yet. The teflon still looks new a couple months in, the handles are still connected fine, they still look almost new.
If they wear out in a year, it'll still be a good value compared to their expensive teflon competitors.
We've tried everything from Stainless Steel to Rachel Ray. I didn't care for all the TLC the stainless required to keep looking like new. Rachel Ray has a harder finish but in the end will still look the same as these when they are wore out. That's just it, wore out. They will both were out. I've got a few friends who have had their Rachel Ray sets for a couple years and while they do like them, they are starting to show their age.
I decided if I was not going to be buying something like stainless, that would probably last a very long time, then why should I spend all the money on the bigger name brands when these pans will do the same thing.
In fact I took it step further and chose not to get the typical starter stet as my current pots were all in fine condition yet. I'm very happy with these pans. They work great. I am breaking my self from the non-stick cooking spray and I am using just a bit of olive oil when I think something is going to stick. I don't think the non-stick is bad on a cool pan heating up but when put in a hot pan like you might do in between making pancakes or something, all that water evaporates and leaves that sticky junk all over your pan. They clean up very well and so far things have not been sticking. I'm also keeping them out of the dishwasher even though it says you can. Just wash them by hand.
The only thing that would make me happier is to offer these in the harder finish version for longer durability. Handles stay cool, pots are not to heavy, not to light and they work great.
As to the non-stick capability of the pan it is flawless nothing sticks to it after using, I can easily take a piece of tissue and wipe it clean..I store them in my oven, stacked with the same cardboard ring separator that came wirh them to prevent scratching and damaging

Used it occasionally and only cleaned it with plastic scouring pads. After a year of use, the non-stick coating is gone.Read more
