Happy Bay is book one in the trilogy, Cole Bay Band book two, and Sandy Ground the exciting conclusion.
Sandy Bennett married too young. She was on her own and lonesome, and married the first guy that asked her. Not that Don wasn't good at the hard sell. He wooed, wined, and dined her...she was swept off her feet by the charming former college football star.
But there were flies in the ointment; two kids he desperately wanted custody of, a floundering career, an increasing emotional distance. One single event that could have eventually turned into a sad news story sent her instead on a wild Caribbean adventure. It was there in St. Martin that Sandy began to find herself. But little did she know the turmoil she had left behind; a living, breathing threat to her well-being and new life.
Follow Sandy's journey to self-discovery in paradise...a place she comes to love called Happy Bay.
Her story continues in Cole Bay Band and the newly released third novel Sandy Ground.
A review from a St. Martin resident:
A lot of my Facebook friends (both on the island and visitors) have been talking about this book called Sandy Ground. "What's it about?" I asked. "Is it a travelogue?" No, they told me. They are novels. "They?" Yes, there are three of them, all novels, and all set in St. Martin. The titles are metaphors, but they are filled with the sights, sounds, and feel of our favorite place on earth.
My business keeps me very busy, but I had to see why they loved these books so much. So I downloaded Happy Bay and put some time aside to read it. I had trouble getting back to work. I could not put it down! Seeing my home through the eyes of a young woman that had never been here gave me a new perspective on how special St. Martin is to me and many others.
I felt as if I had become Sandy. I laughed her laugh and cried her tears. I could not wait to start Cole Bay Band and am halfway through it as I write. What an adventure and love story! Mr. Stelma has a knack for creating characters you can't help but love (or hate). He understands women and the problems they face and the message of faith and love is very strong.
I have the advantage of going to the places Sandy and the other characters visit here anytime, but these books are a great escape for those counting the days to return or make their first visit. There is mystery and suspense, humor and grace, indomitable spirit rooted in feminism...I can't say enough about the writing.
I have heard Sandy Ground holds terrific climaxes. I can't wait to see how things turn out for Sandy, Jimmy, and the others.
I want to recommend these books to anyone that loves our island and everyone that loves this adventure we call life.
