Great Sauce. Discovered at Chipolte Grills.
Glad they sell gallon size. I wish they had a intermediate size between the Gallon and the small bottles.
Great packaging! very little chance the bottle would be broken in shipping!
I use the gallon to refill the smaller bottles I have saved. I used go thru a couple of small bottles a month.
It has also replaced my consumption of pickled Jalapeno peppers.
Since it doesnt have to be refrigerated and is good for a year, I store it in the corner of the kitchen shelf.
They should send a free recipe book to facilitate more use of their product...:)
UPDATE 7/2014: I had bought a gallon in 2012 and it was great and kept well until it ran out about 9 months later. So I ordered a new gallon before I ran out. The shipping Was great as before and the new gallon had good sauce. But unlike the 1st gallon I bought, this new gallon started tasting weird after only a month. Kind of metallic and weirdly twangy tasting, maybe spoiled. It was definitely yellowing quickly!
I contacted Tabasco, to their credit they immediately sent out a replacement gallon and return shipping label, so I could send them back the bad bottle of sauce. But sadly the 2nd bottle of sauce also started going bad after about a month again. I had to start buying the smaller bottles again, but I don't use as much anymore like I did with that 1st bottle.
Even the color of the bottles last year would yellow and taste weird. I took pains to keep them in the same place as the 1st bottle. I suspect they changed their formula. The smaller bottles last for months unopened. But my family was very disappointed in the lower quality and that we don't have as much supply as before.
Be wary. They may still be defective.
