The Nova System is an all-analog programmable distortion/overdrive section under preset and expression control that includes an arrray of effects taken straight from the king of floor-based processors; G-System: top-notch compression, EQ, noise gate, modulation, pitch, delay and reverb right at your feet.

From the Manufacturer

Nova System is the complete, floor-based effects solution for the dedicated guitar player who knows quality when he sees it. Its unique inclusion of an all-analog programmable distortion/overdrive section under preset and expression control makes it the perfect choice whether you want to trim down your rack setup, step up from your pedal patchwork or simply just want the ultimate combination of operational simplicity and audio superiority.

Add to this an array of effects taken straight from the king of floor-based processors; G-System and you have top-notch compression, EQ, noise gate, modulation, pitch, delay and reverb right at your feet. All you need is a guitar and an amp and you’re good to go – first class.

Genuine, Analog Drive Circuit
What makes Nova System so remarkably different is the NDT™ - Nova Drive Technology - a unique, new drive and distortion circuit that gets you the best of both worlds: World-class analog distortion and overdrive with digital control. This is the real deal – no modeling. While the NDT™ is 100 percent analog and physically separated from the digital effects, its control potmeters are digital. This way you can tweak, store and recall as many drive settings as you want - you can even hook up an expression pedal and control the amount of distortion in real-time. Its wide gain range covers your every need from light breakup to heavy distortion.

Top-notch Effects
Equipped with TC branded quality effects from delays and reverbs to compressor, EQ and modulation, Nova System is the obvious all-in-one solution for any guitarist who wants setup simplicity without sacrificing tonal fidelity. All neatly programmable and storable in 60 user presets. Its 30 factory presets give you a demonstration of just what this unit provides; great sound quality and an immense versatility of effects combinations – all designed to get you started right out of the box.

If you are looking for an all around, reasonably priced multi-effect unit for a tube amp, this is in my opinion the best available option. Plenty of options for effects. I was able to figure out how to program it without the manual - the only thing I didn't get at first was how the patches are selected - you have to hold down the bank up/down button or hold down the "1,2,3" patch select buttons for a few seconds before they will activate - then when you actually release the switch, the bank number can be selected, or the patch will be engaged - this allows you to select presets, but at the same time if you just want to turn off individual effects in pedal board mode, you can just tap those and they are instantaneous "on/off" for the effect - just like old fashioned pedal boards.

Pros: nice sounds, sounds are real, reverb, delay, flange, chorus, compressor, and drives are good. Wasn't sure I liked the way the presets were changed but after understanding how they worked, I actually like it now. Drive sounds are very decent, not a huge range of styles like in a modeler, but just a solid warm crunchy OD and distortion.

Cons: Not huge fan of the phaser sounds - I actually had a G-Major a while back and thought the same thing, and this sounds the same as the G-Major to me. It is serviceable but not great. Also, there is a definite issue with the drive bleeding through when the drive is "off". If you have a patch programmed with drive on, and tap the drive off, you can faintly hear the drive still bleeding through the patch. Not the end of the world, but can be enough to mess up the pristine clean sound. So if you program truly clean patches, make sure you completely set the drive gain/levels to zero to eliminate the bleed issue.

This is a fantastic effects processor. I went back and forth and tried the Boss gt-8, Vox, Boss individual pedals, mxr, fulltone etc. This unit is much much better. I connect it through the effects loop on my fender hot rod deluxe and play through different guitars - fender tele (with double humbuckers pick ups), esp and epiphone hollow body jazz. I have also played this on a solid state marshall. This unit's compression settings along with the analog sounding tube like distortion gives my fender just what it needs to sound close to a great metal tone. And simultaneously it gives me superb reverb, delay and chorus to play jazz. In addition this has a boost and pitch settings. Cosmetically it is a great looking unit as you can see from the picture and approx. 40% lesser in size than the Boxx GT8. The switches light up in an orange light, which looks really nice.
It is a great foot controlled effects processor and focuses on TC level quality effects rather than middle of the line effects and a lot of other bells and whistles like the other processors. TC claims that the blocks are taken straight from the G-System, which costs over a 1000 dollars. This a real value for money deal TC quality effects at a great price.

One of the best ever multi FX pedals.
My new Nova system does everything the advertisement said it would.
So NO negative opinions from me.
I know I'm late getting one, it's is December, 2015, but I couldn't be happier.
I felt like alot of the haters on this the first week i had it, but I watched every video,
and read every review I could find on the internet, like Bumblefoot, or Pete Thorne,
and each one had some little trick, or procedure to follow to get Nova system to
sound AMAZING in front of an amp.
I have a really, REALLY loud 2x 12 stereo chorus amp, with and extra 2x12 extension speaker.
I have that set to absolutley NO overdrive, preamp, or crunch, just as clean as it can get.
And the Nova is exactly as sick (bad ass) as all the hype said it would be.
I downloaded all of the new artist series patches from TC Elextronics, and joined ALL the
groups/forums dedicated to this unit. The Nova sounds so good through a loud amp onstage,
that if you are a pro musician that wants to use it to perform live, you will love it.
I don't use anything like this in the studio, So I can't speak to those that hate it for going
direct into the board. TC made it for live obviously, and it is perfect for me.
I can't believe it even pulls of "harmonic feedback" as if you had a stack of marshalls or fenders.
Like Hendrix, or Stevie Ray Vaughn, Trower, etc.
It can nail the mesa boogie tone too, and even the old Fender/Vox sound which has mad a comeback.
One of the main things I had to learn was NOT to use it to make your amp louder, or as a volume booster,
it competely defeats the purpose of the design of this unit.

What a great find. I play a variety of guitars: Original Gene Baker, Parker Fly, Custom Strat, and an Ibanez Euphoria (acoustic electric) live and studio. I have been able to use the presets and variations to the max for all four guitars. Built like a tank, seamless effects transitions, typical TC quiet, very easy to program from scratch or edit. Even though I have a Dumble, Hermida Zen, Stampede, Tube Screamer...the OD and Distortion pre's are pretty cool for the smaller gigs or light studio work. Sounds great in front of all my amps and direct into the board (live or studio). I play a lot of jazz, R&B, funk, folk, many rock genres, just no banjos. Heh, works great and is extremely versatile. For me it's a winner. A+ and had I not bought a G System rack... I never would have thought to buy this for not just convenience sake, but a plethora of sonic "paints" to choose from for the proper application. Great for when I fly out to a gig. Make em cry or melt some faces. Nice job!
