Unwieldy & ungainly (bad pun...) at 15" long. Be aware that these vertical colinear arrays achieve their gain by narrowing the beamwidth in elevation to around 10 degrees. Picture the omni-directional pattern as a flat disc: if your intended area of coverage involves changes in elevation, you'll have to tilt this antenna to take advantage of the increased gain. This doesn't work so well unless all your targets are in the same plane. Not good for covering both floors of a 2-story house, alas.

I ordered these antenna to upgrade/replace the antenna on two outside cameras. There were two goals I hoped to achieve. One antenna was falling apart and needed replaced and I was looking to improve the quality of the wifi signal I was receiving at that location.

This is a two pack of 9DBI gain antenna for approximately $14 which seemed like a good deal, one certainly within the, " Under a $20 bill give em' a try, no big loss", if they don't improve my wifi reception at the cameras.. At the very least I was replacing one bad antenna with a new which wasn't falling apart.

Both fit the antenna connector on each camera just fine. No issues there. They are at least twice as long as the ones I replaced. I didn't measure but they are 12", maybe more, in length. Not an issue unless you want your camera to go unnoticed by folks.

I then logged into my router to check the signal strength. After playing with the antenna position for a few minutes I was pleased to see that they did indeed result in seeing a higher signal strength being reported by the router. Now it didn't peg the needle at 11 but it did move from a good signal strength and sometimes strong signal strength reading to being consistently reported as a strong signal. So my second goal was achieved.

I'm feeling good about this expenditure. If you're in the market for new antenna and getting some more signal strength on a wireless device on the edge of your home wifi, these are worthy of being considered.

My outdoor wireless security cameras would often drop out due to loss of signal. The problem was especially bad when the leaves are full. I replaced the original short antennas with the new longer TECHTOO 9dBi antennas. See picture for size difference. Signal strength was increased1 bar (out of 4 total bars). The cameras are all solid now. No video loss since TECHTOO antenna installation. Easy installation. Fit perfectly. Amazon description was perfect for picking the proper connector style. Highly recommend.

Good antennas, notable improvement

I installed these on my eap110-outdoor. I'm in a rural area and have a 7 acre yard, and I stream music while I mow the fields. Occasionally I use discord to listen to live podcast recordings, and there's an area in the yard behind a cluster of trees that struggled with the stock 5db antennas. 9.5db isn't a huge jump, but I didn't need much to overcome the dropouts.

Happy to say these do the job. I have full bars on almost every inch of my property. The area behind the trees is still not perfect, but it's listenable over there now whereas it was a jumbled mess before. It's over 200 feet from the access point and with thick foliage in the way, so the fact that it mostly works is fine by me.

In areas without trees, I've gone 850 feet down the road and can still (barely) see the AP with the new antennas. Before, it was about 600 feet before it dropped and disappeared... So yeah, they made a positive difference.

If you have a one-story house, these are fine. You'll have better results moving your router to a more centralized location though.. gain can only do so much inside of a house, you really want these outside to really shine... And not nearby. For example, the room under the access point gets a much better signal from the AP in the living room, with 4 walls in the way, despite being less than half the distance. Gain narrows your signal beam, concentrating it horizontally.. don't get these thinking it just improves signal overall, there are very specific aspects.

My roof access point that uses these antennas is just for outside, I have 3 other access points in the house. Even though I get out hundreds of feet from the big antennas on the roof, it's not very effective in the house... So basically, if you're looking for antennas to cover a large open area, these antennas are what you want. Otherwise, to improve coverage in your house, you may want to consider something other than antennas.. good antennas can only do so much in a bad environment.

Awesome speed gain!

I have a secondary computer located in another room of my home, with two walls in the line of sight of the router, which is a Netgear R6400. I have an older TP-Link TL-WN851N, Ver. 2.0, PCI networking card on that PC, running Windows 10 Pro x64 (Asus P5Q-E motherboard, Core2 Quad Q9650 CPU, 8GB of RAM). All older equipment, but fine for me as a secondary PC. The best download speed I could ever get with that configuration is 15-20 Mbps. By simply changing to the higher gain antennae, I was instantly able to attain an average internet download speed of 50-60 Mbps (My hardwired network speed as provided by my cable provider on my other PC is 100Mbps). That's up to a 300% gain in download speed! Awesome is all I can say. For just a few dollars I was able to give my older PC a huge boost in wireless communication speed. Because the higher the gain on an antenna, the more directional they become, I had misgivings about expecting much improvement over my stock 2 dBi antennae, so the results greatly exceeded my expectations. The antenna is long, at about 15", but because it is installed on the back of a full tower case, it is hardly noticeable. I was later thinking about changing out the antennae on my router too, but alas, that model has fixed antennae, but even then I am very satisfied with the current configuration. Of course my results are purely subjective, and different configurations and/or environments may yield better or not as good results, but I highly recommend this product!

Did not improve my 4G signal

These did not improve my 4G signal using a Tenda 4g router. They did not fit due to the plugs being female and the sockets on the router also being female I did over come this by inserting a small piece of copper wire to fix the issue. but alas they did not improve the signal. I got 4 bars but no speed increase. However as not to waste them I attached them to my TP link router whicI use as a WiFi AP and this helped over the original antennas. Not a significant increase though. They are well made and are huge compared to the original TP Link ones.

Bought for our Draytek router to try to cure the wifi dead spots we have in our cottage (with 50cm thick stone walls).
The signal was definitely stronger so there was definitely a small boost.
However it still didn't help to penetrate the thick walls well enough to give a reliable signal everywhere.

I think if you have 'marginal' wifi issues it might help you, but if you have larger issues, you're better off looking at a wifi extender kit.
