We used this as a prop in a haunted house. We also used it to chop a hole in a door for the same haunted house. It was scary. I can't vouch for anything else other than we were able to chop a pretty solid door with it. We were also able to scare some pretty silly girls with it as well. Win Win.

Not suited for felling trees. Does not hold an edge on the blade. I have used it to partially fell one yellow pine that was about 18 inches in diameter. Before I was finished I noticed that the head was coming loose from the handle. I strongly recommend not buying this item.

Overall, it seems to be a half decent axe. However, based upon my personal experience and from reading other reviews, Tekton needs to teach their smiths how to sharpen an axe. When i first inspected the bit, i noticed that the edge was thicker than a U.S. quarter! Took a few hours to sharpen with the bastard file. Pretty good deal overall i guess.

My fire-wise crew and wild land crews all use this falling axe. It is well built with a short handle for felling trees.
