I used to hate these style strippers until I learned how and on what type of wire to use them. These are best on smaller gauge, solid core wire like you would use with a breadboard. Perfect for the cheap college student taking an electronics class.
I expecially like how easy it is to both cut and strip without using different parts of the tool.

The wire size guide is relatively useless (based upon looking at it and reading other reviews, I've never tried to use it), and I really wish there was a way to keep them locked closed, but these things are to be expected at this price range.

I use this stripper on all my automotive jobs & it works great. Very light weight and small for tight spaces. I highly recommend this wire stripper because it has treated me very well over the years.

Fast shipping
Well built

This style of wire stripper is usually my favorite, usually found at electronic stores. These however will not easily strip 16awg professional speaker wire. They absolutely will not cut 16awg copper wire without wanting to split the tool apart. Low quality toy. Might handle much smaller wire well. Extremely dissapointed. For copper wire only as stated on the tool itself. Would not buy again and cannot recommend.

This product gave my teen son fits. It may have been because the set to wire size guide did not have numeric markings. It may have also been his lack of experience. The price was right for this project tho and he eventually did figure it out. I can't really blame the product for our frustrations, but would suggest a different wire cutters for the less experienced user even if it costs a few dollars more.

I have a pair of strippers just like this by another brand that are amazingly good. Compared to the fancier multi-hole strippers, these simple little things work surprisingly well.

This brand of strippers also worked as well as I expected, at first. But after one day of use cutting coax cable and stripping ground wire - maybe 20 or 30 cuts - the blades were dull and the head bent enough to simply bend the cable instead of cutting it.

Not the easiest "adjustable" tool in the world to actually adjust, but once you do, it works great. However, it's completely impractical if you are looking to use this on multiple gauge wires that need stripping. But if you deal with one gauge of wire constantly, it does the job.

I used to install car audio. This type of stripper is by far the best for automotive application.

I don't use the settings for different gauges, I just put this on the wire, grip down but not super hard and then strip. No hassle of fitting the wire into the right hole or messing with settings. There is also a little cutter right under the stripper. If you strip a lot of wires, this is the tool for you.

I already had a similar stripper that I like and just wanted a second one with a similar design. These basic strippers are my favorite for audio and electrical cables.

These wire strippers are not good at all! I ordered 3 pairs as I use strippers all day for work. I noticed that these strippers are actually gapped so much that they wont even strip wires without trying multiple times, also they are to dull. I tried sharpening 1 pair and even closing the gap and still terrible. Do not waste your money on these strippers, they are not even worth the 2.99.

These are not top-quality strippers but for the price they work as expected.
They clip the leads of leds, resistors etc. well.
I tried to use them to cut 16gauge speaker wire and they bent half of the strands.
They stripped the 16 gauge speaker wire fine.
