The positive:
It strips wire very well. The wire cutters work well. It is comfortable to hold. Low risk of being shocked in case circuit is live.

The cons:
The little metal device that holds the tool closed is hard to open and close with one hand. This requires you to let go of whatever you are working on to open the tool. It is hard to undo with gloves on.

I recommend this tool for hobbyists.
Professionals would find it annoying to undo clasp.

These things are sturdy and well made. For this price, I was expecting something a little more "flimsy", but these are rugged and will likely last for many years to come. They strips solid and stranded wire sizes 10-22 AWG and even cut screws! The markings are easy to read and look like they won't ever fade. It's spring loaded and has a great locking mechanism.

Fine for cutting wires, not as efficient for stripping them. The holes to place the different gauge wires are not round so it doesn't cut into the casing cleanly and when you strip the casing off you're likely to take a lot of wire with it. I had to use the 10/12 AWG slot to strip 14 AWG wire and it didn't cut through the casing completely so I had to finish off with an X-Acto knife.

I don't know, maybe I got a bad pair from Tekton but this isn't what I found to be quality. I should have just gone to Harbor Freight and bought a $5 pair that would likely work better.

I'm a hobbyist A/V guy, doing small and infrequent projects in my house. I purchased these and did a few small projects. I wish the pliers at the tip were a little larger. It's easy to apply too much pressure while stripping the cut casing, and that prevents one from stripping as easily as other tools. But that's a very minor concern. The thumb lock feels cheap, but otherwise the construction is solid and tight. The tool has a good heft, just enough. The grip is fine, the spring's tension is just right. The sharpness of the stripper and cutter makes using this tool satisfying. In my experience, the sharpness of the elements and the tension of the spring are the reasons I give these guys a high rating. I found them to be precise and efficient.

The TEKTON is a good or better than Klein. The cutter sliced through 12/2 wire (all three leads) with little effort. The stripper was sharp and quick--I'd used a pair of my father's years ago and thought about calling him and tell him to throw them away. This is a great price for a quality tool...it makes me want to hang some more fixtures in my garage!

Tekton doesn't claim to be Snap-on, so it's irrational to expect that level of quality and their customer service is exemplary- this tool was provided to replace another product and done with the utmost courtesy and respect.

Not a lot you can foul up here, but some things could be better. The stripper and plier portions work fine, so much that the pliers could be used as an emergency crimper if necessary. The two screw cutters take a tremendous amount of force to cut, but make clean cuts when they eventually work. I'd also like the spring lock to be a little more robust. I have a HF clone that locks easier. No HF tool should ever outshine a competitor.

This would have been a 3 star review, but the customer service was fantastic, so 4 it is!
