Product Description

In any light, day or night, the TEKTON 5941 Digital Tire Gauge gives you an instant, accurate, and easy-to-read measurement of your vehicle's tire pressure. A simple push button turns the unit on and selects one of four measurement ranges. When it’s dark, the lighted nozzle illuminates your work area, so you can easily locate the valve stem. With gentle pressure, the nozzle seals onto the valve stem quickly and completely to deliver an accurate measurement. The exact measurement instantly displays on a clear, lighted digital screen, so there’s no guesswork or estimation like reading an analog gauge. After you’re done, a 30-second automatic shut off means you never have to worry about accidentally running the batteries dead. Contoured to fit your hand, the ergonomic shape is complemented by a soft, nonslip texture for ultimate comfort and control. Check your tire pressure often. Properly inflated tires keep you safe on the road and help you save on gas. Store this handy tool in your glove box or console, so it's always ready when you need it.

Specifications:

  • (4) measurement ranges: PSI: 0-100, bar: 0-7, kPa: 0-700, kg/cm2: 0-7
  • Minimum increment: 0.5 PSI
  • Power source: (1) CR2032 3V lithium coin cell, (3) LR44 1.5V button cells (all included)

4.0 out of 5 stars Neat & Easy to Use, Counts in Increments of 0.5PSI, but Might be Dead by the Time you Need it
By Raashid on August 1, 2021
Bought this little tool way back in late 2017, back when I was only riding my bicycle, as it was pretty affordable ($7USD + $5USD import) and could come in handy whenever I want to gauge my bicycle tires. Upon arrival, used it just once to check if it works, all looked fine and dandy, but then I never made use of it again for the next 4 years until today.

I had bought a Toyota Highlander Hybrid in early 2019, the battery was still fine back then since I had never used it again, and it's been sitting in the center arm rest of my Highlander until today. My Highlander's infortainment display was showing my tires were out of balance (FL: 38PSI, RL: 38PSI, RR: 36PSI, FR: 36PSI), so, I figured I'd use it to deflate my left tires down to 36PSI to better balance my Highlander...just to find that its battery had died despite no use (possibly due to the heat).

Took it apart using a tiny screwdriver set I had (my regular toolbox screwdriver wouldn't fit in the screw hole), just to find its circuit board wires crossing over the CR2032 battery, and it had an additional 4 button batteries. Had I not had a pack of CR2032 coin batteries on hand (same battery my digital scale uses), I'd likely have just dumped it and grabbed the more versatile Amazon Basics digital tire gauge that wasn't available earlier, as them batteries are more expensive than how much I paid for the entire tool. So, I attempted replacing only the CR2032 coin battery (had to use another mini flat screwdriver to eject the old one due to the wires being in the way). Fortunately, that was the only battery that had died, so, it resumed working again.

I took and attempted using it to deflate my Highlander's left tires, just to then notice the digital gauge only counts in increments of 0.5PSI 😒 Alas, I still went ahead with it, gently deflating & gauging my tires, until the gauge read exactly 36PSI. Started & double checked my Highlander's infotainment display, and it was now showing to be fairly balanced, so, the gauge is pretty accurate (all except the FL were 36PSI, the FL was showing 37PSI even though the guage said it was 36PSI...but that's most likely due to me sitting in the driver sit when checking the infotainment display 🙂).
