I have been using this for almost 4.5 months. I have a leak in one of my tires that I cannot afford to fix yet, so I have ever to add air to it once a week. This gauge has been working very well for me. Until today. Temp was almost 60 °F outside. All 4 tires read a higher than actual PSI and I couldn't get another reading until I waited for it to reset itself to 0.0 which had not happened before, it had always let me take a new reading immediately without waiting for it to zero. So, I did the add enough air and actually let air out of the other 3 tires. Last time I used the gauge was about a week and a half prior and the outside air temperature had been in the 30's. Well, tonight the light in my car for low tire pressure came on again, so I bought a very cheap manual guage, which didn't work accurately at all...but then this Tekton guage started working properly again so I put air in all 4 tires. No idea what was up with that. Hopefully it was some weird fluke and will not happen again. Overall I give it 4 stars so far.

I like the ergonomics and the look. Having to have a button to hit to turn it on is less ideal, but acceptable. I bought two different manufacturers units because my old analogue gauge was 5lbs off from my 2013 car's onboard TPMS and dash display, and we have another vehicle that doesn't have a pressure read out from the TPMS (just a warning light if it's too low). They both arrived today.

In Minnesota in winter, you need to care about your tire pressure, and while one pound isn't worrisome, a five pound difference isn't acceptable, so I needed to get this resolved.

The other manufacturers brand hit my TPMS reading exactly. This one reads one pound high. That's certainly acceptable, and I like the ergonomics, look, and price of this Tekton. So four stars.

Picked this up for a birthday gift. The recipient was so thrilled I ordered one for myself. Dear husband quickly stole it so ended up buying one for all the men in our family at Christmas as well as another for myself. That should say something . . . but in case it doesn't . . . more detail! I am very impressed with this tire gauge. I've owned a couple and never thought much of them . . . they were tools, they did the job. I expect that. For me to write a review, they either need to be really good or really bad. I don't have time to discuss the middle range! I find the brushed casing perfect both for grasp and minimizing scuffs. The finger grip fits me perfectly (I have large hands and usually feel like smaller ones are going to get dropped.) It is accurate based on the readings from my other gauges. It has worked on all the vehicles I've tried it on, from car, rv, truck and full sized van. The full sized van is impressive because quite a few will not work on those tires. I love that there is a light and that the display is easy to read. Since I've only owned it a month I can't speak to longevity, but I don't see a reason that it would not last, it appears to be well made and of good quality. My only complaint is that when I toss it in a bin or glovebox it can and will be accidentally turned on by bumping other items so I've resorted to carrying it in the cupholder of my van. At any rate, very happy I purchased this and would not and have not hesitated to buy more! .

A really great tool that comes in handy. Day or night this little tool is easy to read with the blue backlight in the display. Plus there is a light that shins from the tip to the valve stem so that you can easily find your tire stem in the dark. I like how the unit measures in different units in case that's something you need. But it's something that i don't need or even use. So it can be a little confusing when I get a really weird tire reading and i haven't checked to see if it is set to PSI. Overall its a great tool that fits into your hand easily and the fit into the valve stem is tight without any leaks.

I've had problems with leaky tires. Slow leaks suck! And then you get all paranoid when you think the tire might look a little low... Or is it just how it's parked?

This pressure detecting contraption is very easy to work after the first couple times. There's a little button that changes the reading from PSI to other formats of pressure reading. I've unknowingly changed it a few times and was like "WHAAAT!?!? 937728901 PSI!? Oh, that's not psi, ok. Whew!". So just be aware of this. The reading will come up as soon as you push it up to your tire's nozzle and it detects the increased pressure. Great for the price. Amazon also sells some great little air compressors that plug in your car's lighter socket, one of which I purchased also. Thanks for reading! Hope it helps! 😀

I bought this to make it easier to read the PSI of tires in my garage. The combo of low light and a dial just weren't working for me anymore. With this lighted tire gauge I can easily read the pressure in any location of my garage. It makes it much easier to ensure all tires are at the correct PSI. While this does not take away from my rating of this gauge, it would be nice if a future model had a pressure release button built into the gauge. I found that letting up on the gauge enough to let air escape the tire caused the gauge to misread the pressure when pressed firmly back to the tire stem. I had to fully remove the gauge from the stem and then reapply it to get a clean reading.

Pros Good Size & Weight, Easy to Use, lighted!
Cons no pressure release button

A good Digital Tire Gauge has always been hard to come by. They've either been inaccurate, clumsy, or have broken/died quickly. I cannot not find anything wrong with this gauge! It feels heavy, solid, well built, and has a loop so you can hang it. I have compared the accuracy of this gauge to two other mechanical gauges I have(pencil and dial) and for the most part has been spot on, only very rarely being off and if so, only by 1 or 2 psi. The Gauge itself fits comfortably in your hand and when the trigger button is depressed the Gauge will automatically zero itself with the lights for both the screen and valve insert area lighting-up. One of my favorite parts is the how the Valve Insert Area lights-up...it has a ring that lights-up(think BMW headlights) which blasts a bright light where ever you point it. The valve fits very nicely and snugly in the insert with no air leakage and it takes the pressure quickly without bouncing through numbers(some other gauges I had would literally take 15 secs to come up with a pressure as you watched it jump back-and-forth through large swaths of pressures, leaving you with a ton of uncertainty of the accuracy...which was normally incorrect). You are then able to scroll through the various types of pressures by depressing the trigger button(which is the only button). No need to depress the button to zero the Gauge again-and-again, as long as the Gauge is lit you can just go on to the next tire and insert the valve. Why such a long article on a Tire Pressure Gauge you ask? Because if you ask anyone who uses one frequently, they'll probably tell you the numerous gauges they've been through and how wildly horrible many have been....we understand the importance of have an accurate easy-to-use one that lasts.

I just bought a new car, and I always keep a tire gauge in my cars, so I went shopping for a new gauge. I've always purchased analog tire gauges because I was skeptical of the accuracy and reliability of a digital gauge. But given the low price and positive reviews on this TEKTON, I thought I would try it.

I just checked the pressure on my new car, and when the reading said 39 psi, I was surprised. I checked the tire pressure sticker inside my car door, and the recommended pressure is 32 psi. I was immediately disappointed, thinking that this gauge wasn't reading properly.

So I pulled out the Slime analog tire gauge from my other car and checked the tire pressure with it. 39 psi. The Tekton was exactly the same as my analog gauge. I checked all four tires on the new car, and all were 39 - 39.5 pounds--they had apparently been overfilled at the factory or at the dealer.

So I had to let out 7 psi from each tire, and tested along the way with both the Tekton and the Slime gauge, and the Tekton read accurately in every case, within 0.5 psi of the Slime.

I'm impressed. It seems to work well.

This device is designed to be used for the occasional measurement of tire pressure. For that purpose it's great.

The LCD display is bright enough to read during the daytime. The light on the tip is great for finding the valve stem in the dark. (Proved this to myself the first night I had this when I went to fill my tires up at the gas station and the overhead light above the air pump was out)

The accuracy is plenty good enough for normal automotive use. It measures to within 1lb of what my car's internal pressure sensors read. More importantly on accuracy, it's accurate when measuring against itself. I tested it by taking the same measurement from all 4 of my tires 3 time search and each time it gave me the same measurement for each tire. A bad gauge might give different measurements of the same tire and would be completely unreliable. This one could repeat it's own results.

The overall accuracy might be plus or minus a pound from another gauge, but that could be due to rounding if you other gauge only measures in whole numbers. This one reports in half pound increments. And for normal driver usage being within 1 pound of specs will be fine. You will see a larger variance than that just from road friction heating the tire on a 10 mile trip.

I would not recommend this for a professional mechanic who takes several pressure measurements a day. The device is plastic and does not feel sturdy enough to last under constant use. It should hold up in your glove box until the once or twice a year that you need it just fine. If that is what you need it for, it's a great buy for the money.

The gauge works fine for bike tires as well, but it's a little big to carry with you in a bike repair kit. It's great for checking pressures before you leave home, but for a bike repair kit, stick with a skinny pen style gauge.

What a piece of crap! Used it a dozen times and now it stopped working. I'm going back to an analog gauge.
The other thing I don't like is you have to select the correct units (PSI for me). It's the same button you use to turn it on so every time you use the gauge, you have to make sure you've got the correct units selected. Unnecessary.
