The versatile TEKTON 2-in-1 Straight and Flush Cut High-Tension Hacksaw is ideal for a wide range of plumbing, construction, demolition, shop, and garage applications. It has two blade positions, one for standard straight cuts and one set at 40 degrees for cutting off embedded nails, bolts, rebar, and anchors that are flush with floors or walls. For fast, true cuts, the blade is held rigid at high tension, to prevent twisting and reduce chattering as it passes through material. The main handle and front frame handle have nonslip, rubber grips for two-handed power and control. Up to six blades store inside the square-shaped steel main beam, so you always have a fresh one on hand. It's recommended for use on plastic and metal pipes, tubing, conduit, threaded rods, brackets, bolts, and chain. Includes one 12-inch (18 TPI) blade.
The TEKTON 12-inch high-tension hacksaw offers two blade positions, standard straight cuts (90-degree) and flush cuts against flat surfaces (40-degree). Store up to six blades in the handy main beam storage compartment.
Rugged Frame and Main Beam
Allowing a blade tension up to 400 pounds, the cast aluminum alloy frame and square tubular steel main beam work together to prevent twisting and keep the saw and blade rigid, resulting in faster, truer cuts.
Soft, non-slip grips on main and front handles supply comfortable, two-handed power and control.

Top customer reviews
I got about 1/16" into my very first cut with the saw, and the blade fell off. At first I couldn't figure out what happened, then I realized that I could no longer properly tension the blade with the screw adjustment. The problem is that the front vertical support snapped from the horizontal attachment point. I tried to disassemble the saw to see if something needed to be tightened, but the over-molded rubber has everything captive. Further failure analysis is not possible without cutting the rubber off.
See the attached picture - I'm pulling lightly on the blade to demonstrate the problem. The saw is useless without the blade tension.
As the title says, I probably received a bad copy since nobody else seems to have had this problem.
*** Edit ***
Changed to 3 stars from 1 star. Original review retained above.
Customer service is fantastic and send out a new saw based on this review as soon as I got around to sending them my address. I'd also like to note that the bimetal blade is a lot better than carbon steel blades that come with some saws. I ended up buying a Dewalt saw that it looks like this saw is copied from because I needed a hack saw the same day the first one broke. So, it would be 5 stars if the original one I received worked when I needed it.
The frame is very sturdy and makes it easy to use your hole body while cutting instead of just one arm. There's no noticeable wobble, and the grip is excellent.
I'm impressed with the quality of this overall, but the only minor annoyance with it is that you have to be very specific when you're replacing the blade. Still, this is a winner from Tekton.
