Essential tool for home mechanics or master criminals

I needed a pick set to break into a nearby NSA above black site that houses their latest quantum computer project called, 'Helios'. This is a future AI transcendence level intelligence that could possibly pull off mundane level thinking like solving the God Equation or more excitingly, it could allow me to rule the world. (of course I would need to get a mini-me, to help pull off the complete look) And, therefore I relied upon this Tekton pick set as the perfect tool to break through the NSA's faulty and poorly designed nine level combination of physical locks and quantum encryption. Jeez, you would think these clowns could get their act together.

Seriously, I needed to remove some seals from a Shimano freehub I was rebuilding on a mountain bike and decided it was about time I finally added a pick set to my toolbox. And this set fits the bill perfectly. Four little picks with different tip angles and all of them about five inches long. I did not put major pressure on any of the picks but I suspect the claim that they are made of heat treated steel is true. All I can say, is that they are great for what I needed and for several other precision small jobs I have done around the house (like fixing my wife's jewelry). And their price is very reasonable. That makes me a happy customer and I would recommend this pick set to others who wish to take over the world. Five stars!

I've been using these picks regularly since the day they arrived back in Oct. of '17. None of them have broke or bent and the picks are still very sharp as of 3/1/18. I use them for seal removal and for clean small delicate parts that are difficult to clean otherwise. The handles are sturdy and can take a good amount of torque as I've yet to damage one. Great build quality

Black and red color scheme is a nice touch too. I think there is some type of chrome plating on these pick as a couple of them are turning slightly copper colored at the tips of the tools but this doesn't seem to affect their utility. The lettering on one pick came off after being exposed to lacquer thinner but the black and red colors of the handle remained intact. They now have a very nice broken in look to them. Good style.

Overall great purchase for the price the quality and the look.

I ordered the Tekton 4 piece hook and pick set with automotive work in mind. There have been many occasions in the past while working on my truck when I’ve said to myself “I really need to get one of those pick sets”. I chose the Tekton set for two reasons 1) it was one of the least expensive if not the least expensive set on Amazon. 2) it’s reviewed pretty favorably by a large number of customers.
When I received the set I noticed that the packaging it arrived in was a little strange. The plastic was obviously cut manually just above the rubber grips on the tools. I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that the set I received was previously returned, although the individual tools were in new condition. The rubber grip feels nice in my hand and they don’t feel overly delicate. I haven’t owned it very long, but based on my first impression I’m satisfied with my choice to go with Tekton. After they prove durable I would absolutely recommend this set.

Great addition to any set of tools

This set did a great job and got the job I was working on done faster due to having the right tool. I've not had to put a lot of torque on any of the picks (I'd not recommend) because for this type of tool I see it being used for delicate areas. For my use, I needed them for pulling out automotive rubber gaskets around my intake of the engine. Make sure to store these in a safe place because the tips of the tools are super pointy and I'd recommend for safety to use an electrical heat shrink sleave so you can form fit the tip to protect for hurting yourself or someone rummaging through your tools (kids)

Handles are very small. Hooks seem to be well seated, did not twist in handle. On first use however, 90 degree hook bent 90 degrees laterally. Looks really cool, but doesn't help complete the job. I had dremelled a cut in a brass compression sleeve, on a 1/2" copper pipe (faucet feed), and needed this tool to peel the ring off. The brass won. Amazon was great, instant refund, not likely to be useful for my needs.

I don't wrench for a living, if I did I'd probably go with a better brand, but these tekton tools work great for the occasional DIY job to save some money. I've never had a proper pick set, and honestly I didn't really think I'd need it, but on a whim I grabbed these for a valve cover gasket job and these little picks made getting the old gasket out much easier and with no damage to the cover. Feels sturdy and this set gives you some options for angles and whatnot. I'm satisfied with this set and this brand.

Good Set of Basic Picks

Bought these more to help clean nooks and crannies on other tools and things, and only a little bit as work tools. Overall though they've more than lived up to their prescribed usage. I've used them to probe engines for depths, a little bit of retrieval work where my magnetic probe wouldn't reach, and the cleaning work and they've held up very well.
The tools are solidly built, and while I've never applied a ton of force to them, I feel confident that they can handle some good lateral forces, though with the tips being fairly sharp, I think significant force on them, especially on a hard object like metal, would end up blunting them. The grips are well designed and easy enough to maintain control of even when covered in grease or oil.

These are a MUST have! I work on fire alarm and security installs and I couldn't image not having these. I literally use one of these everyday, fishing wire thru walls is so much easier with these. The quality is 10/10 and I'm rough on tools. I typically use the hooked and bent ones but actually used the straight one the other day to remove a sim card from my ipad. You will find many uses for these bad boys, my one and only complaint is that they snag onmy tool bags and tool pouches because the are so sharp, I personally stick the points in a pencil eraser to avoid this issue.

Just something to note before anyone buying is READ THE TITTLE. As i didn't do that, i clicked purchase too quickly because i saw the price. It says "precision pick and hook set" in simpler terms "mini pick set". Yeah well i really never read that and when i received them i saw them and looked how tiny these are. I didn't send them back because they are useful at work, it's nice to have smaller picks that the larger pick set i have. Some techs at my work mocked me for purchasing these because of how small they were. I compared these 4 to a set i saw on my Snap-on Reps truck and they were $75 but came in a flimsy plastic tray. I cannot justify paying that to just say Snap-on on them or having them stored in a plastic tray. The picks itself are durable, and last when in greasy or oily. The handles got good grip, i really like the 90 degree one. My personal favorite as i love removing electrical connectors with it. Holding the picks sometimes is wired just because of the size, bigger hands maybe would challenging but unsure as my hands are small. I do put quite a bit of pressure on these picks and have with stand what i put them up against.

Otherwise the price is well worth what you get. I maybe would like a storage tray even it added a few more dollars but anymore than $10 then that would be pushing it. They are solid durable picks and happy that i added them to my toolbox. Makes me laugh because i watch others spending money on Snap-on ones meanwhile i my wallet is laughing.

I read some reviews before I bought it and some people mentioned how small this set was. When I opened the package I had to giggle on how small these picks really are. That being said, I think it is a high quality set. The ends are tiny but sharp.

I decided to get this so that I could stop using other things such as tips of knives and screwdrivers for applications better served with a nice pick. The price is right on these, I didn't do much shopping around but for under $10 it is hard to go wrong. I have used primarily the straight and 90 degree pick while the other two mainly site in my toolbox.

It would be nice to have a case for these so that the tips are protected and they could all be easily sorted but that would also add to the cost. Nonetheless would be nice for safety.

I found the tips to be quite durable. I have a had a few situations where I thought for sure I busted a tip off the pick but they are still as sharp as the day I got them.

Don't hesitate, add these to your toolbox they come in handy.

If you need a set of picks, this is about as cheap as you'll find some and unless you're using them as prybars or screwdrivers like some techs or auto entheusiasts do then you should be fine. As a Mechanic i eventially upgraded to some snap on picks but they cost like 8 9 times more and in the end of it it's just a pick so. Never had them break or anything, just wasnt a fan of the handles and i tend to use my picks as pullers and just abuse them overall.
