TEKTON 4888 3/8-Inch and 1/2-Inch Drive Impact Socket Set, Inch/Metric, 38-Piece
Covering a wide range of sizes from including 11 dual-size sockets, the 6-point TEKTON 3/8-inch and 1/2-inch. Drive Sockets are built for use with impact wrenches to loosen the most stubborn fasteners in tight spaces without stripping them.
Built for use with impact tools, these TEKTON 3/8-inch and 1/2-inch drive deep impact sockets effortlessly break free rusty suspension and exhaust bolts, quickly remove stuck lug nuts, and loosen crank bolts with ease.
TEKTON impact sockets efficiently transfer torque from impact wrench to fastener, loosening the most stubborn nuts and bolts. Made from high-strength chrome vanadium steel, our impact sockets are more resistant to drive end round out than standard impact sockets, resulting in a longer useable life. TEKTON impact sockets meet or exceed ANSI performance standards.
The high-torque, 6-point socket grips the broad, flat sides of nuts and bolts, not just the corners, so there's no need to worry about stripping fastener head or damaging socket. An extra-deep broach in the deep sockets enables you to access the entire length of fasteners.
Even in low light, the high-contrast, permanent laser etched size markings are easy-to-read.

Other reviewers have said that the finish isn't awesome on these and that they're easily scuffed up. That's true. Over time they may become impossible to read. So, I wish they were stamped or etched. They're not like my Craftsman sockets. But, they're also not hundreds of dollars.
The day I bought my impact wrench I bought the two sockets that I needed immediately from an auto parts store for around twenty five dollars. They come with a limited warranty. This is pretty close to a complete set for sixty five dollars and has a lifetime guarantee. Look at all of the reviews that have been followed up by Tekton reps. This is the main thing that sold me on this brand. I don't anticipate any of those "our warranty doesn't cover tools used during leap year or days ending in y" conversations if anything goes wrong.
I only use my impact wrench on stubborn fasteners that I can't get with my ratchet anyway. This set fits my needs just fine. But note that there is another review here from a guy using them all day every day as a mechanic and he's happy with them.
I love the clear labeling of the sizes and when they actually label both metric & imperial unit when they are identical in size.
These sockets just sit in the space; the case doesn't have any sort of way to hold them so it can be both good and bad. One kick and you'll have all the sockets flying everywhere but I also like that it's just easy to take out and put back. Just working on my car yesterday alone the 3" extension came in very handy. I'll be adding these to my collection of tools used for my car and around the house! Very slim case by the way so it's not bulky at all.
Everything in one case! If only tool use and then not putting it back were a corporal punishment offense. Or, if only corporal punishment were still allowed at home in this country... well, this set is the planned work-around for all that political business too. Sick of having bars of sockets, lost & missing sockets (the boys! and maybe me sometimes too). With this set I will know right away when I finish a project if I got them all - since the case has marked spots for each. LOVE LOVE LOVE that they are marked for SAE and MM on the ones that are the same (ex. 19MM is also 3/4), In fact, there are 11 so marked... so there would be at least 11 MORE sockets required to meet this sets functional parameters; for those of us who are Metric/SAE conversion challenged. So why did I have 4 (yeah, FOUR) bars to do that single 19MM/3/4 job? A short 19, short 3/4, deep 19, deep 3/4... sometimes even more - since I have chrome and impact... and since often the same sizes are in 3/8 and 1/2 drive sets (sometimes necessarily, and this set does have that level of needed duplication). And then there are all those 'others'... like when you need that 19 deep but can't find it - I don't know (without a bit of research) that my 3/4 deep would do the same job... so what do I do? Gotta get the job done NOW (is there any other way?), so i pop out and buy another 19 Deep... perpetuation and multiplication. It all just gets messier and messier... and then consumes tons of time re-organizing now & then; and money, as I sometimes thought it would be better with one storage gizmo vs another (bars, cubbies, racks). And of course, sometimes my 3/8" cubbie of 3/8" socket bars gets left out and it snows! grrr... what a mess, worse than keeping up with toddlers. I have super duper high hopes this set will reduce all that and more to one decent, covered, tapered, bright red, sturdy case that has it ALL - portable (really, not too big at all!), no fighting to get the sockets off the bar, or having the bar pin break off inside the end of the socket (on the plastic ones, when they freeze) - Since in this set they lay CALMLY and GENTLY in their case marked 'spot' (not in there so tight you need to find a baby straight edge screw driver to pry them out... you know what i mean!). Just lying there waiting to be used (accessible even with gloves on), and placed back in their spot (secured by cover and slight size indentations). Handle on the case is 'built in' enough to never break (absent a meeting with an errant sledge hammer blow...or something...). So I checked if it would be POSSIBLE to replace the case in such an event... and it is! I Don't see how I can fail with this one. The only time i envision needing ANY other sockets is when it has to be a 1/4" ratchet, and those jobs can be done with one of the dozen or so fancy screwdriver like sets around here... or the 1/4" cubby of 1/4" sockets bars (:-)). Then there is the job that needs a 34MM... but that is why they have loaner tools at most chain stores. Very complete set.
The Boys have been told hands off (they can use the sockets in the cubbies and bars and racks; and the 'never fails if you are diligent enough yard/house/porch/back seat/arctic entry/junk drawer/junk room/ window sill/friends house/friends car/under the car hood ledge/everywhere else; you used it, you find it sockets').
And for their 'I forgot' moments, or their 'it wasn't me, it was my friend' moments, and even the 'you weren't here and I needed it' moment; I am setting up a 'plan in my head' of an arsenal of traps around a biometric electrified locker to keep them safe and make sure no one touches this set! Not because they are so valuable in $$$, but rather because they are so invaluable in the completeness and SINGLE marked sturdy case to keep under my pillow when I dare to sleep. MY (mine, mine, mine) 3/8 and 1/2 COMPLETE SET in one! I think I will be FINISHING the jobs, instead of fighting the boys, the bars, the other 'partial' (even if complete) sets (Ooop, gonna need the 1/2" sockets for this one...Dang it, need the shorts to get to this one...etc.), and instead of fighting my memory (where the *** is that set of Short 1/2" sockets!?!). And there are adapters & extenders in there too, so even if I don't have the 'right' ratchet, I can make it work with this set. Plus, based on other reviews, I don't think they'll twist up under cheater bar pressure... and if they do, I have seen enough reviews to know the company will replace them - without a trip to sears. I got the extra set of adapters by the same folks too...just for good measure. A one woman, ONE case socket ready machine!
Get it for the peace it can bring to your life...
BTW: the boys still living at home are 15 & 18 now, have both had their own Huge garage style tool boxes on wheels - with their own tool sets, in their own rooms, since 2 Christmas's ago. That doesn't solve the hands off tools issues either... just in case you think you have a better plan than this single, concise, carry-it-with-you-everywhere set.
